Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Rohit definitely doesn't look fit. His footwork looked tentative as if he was protecting his injured leg.

Might sound controversial but he shouldn't be opening if he is playing with the kind of form Kishan was in.[DOUBLEPOST=1604585991][/DOUBLEPOST]At this point I'm inclined to believe that Shreyas Iyer has picked de Kock in his fantasy team and that is the only reason to serve him with two left arm bowlers in the first four overs.

Ashwin's 4 overs up, time for him to go to the dressing room? 7 overs remaining and anything less than 180 will be tough to defend.

Ashwin comes in clutch with the ball yet again. Has given a fighting chance to Delhi in this game.

Still remains in the field as of now.

Just noticed that Delhi not only have Sandeep but also Keemo Paul. Sams ahead of them?

Sams had very good BBL last season took about 30 wickets in that competition.

Maybe they wanted an extra pacer to backup Rabada & Nortje.

For some reason people want him to bat at seven for India when he can do this. Hardik Pandya is simply ludicrous when on song!

This is clinical hitting from Pandya and brilliant finish in an important game.

There is something about him in this playoffs.

Smoked DJ Bravo and Csk in 2015 & last year and now DC.

Ishan was brilliant as well.

Ishan Kishan and Pandya have blown Delhi away. Unfortunately if Shaw does not fire in this match, its going to be tough for them to win this. What batting! The more I see of Ishan Kishan, the more I like how he bats.

What has happened to Shaw. He just does not look the same player post his injury.

49 record in danger??

I am aware of his record and I do get Delhi's reasoning behind wanting a third pacer too. They're a smart outfit and they worked out that their lack of wicket taking in middle overs was hurting them. Their solution? Let the third overseas pacer (Sams at the moment) free up more of the Proteas' overs in the middle with Ashwin trying to attack. What I do feel is that with pitches slowing down to this extent, Stoinis can easily bowl more than an over. He takes pace off the ball, has experience with bowling at the death. He could be the third/fourth pacer while Ashwin bowls more in the powerplay (like the two over spell today for him). I would opt for Sandeep because I think he is very underrated and as a wrist spinner can ensure that wickets in the middle overs will always be available.

Another alternative would be Keemo Paul who wasn't half bad last season for Delhi. Why is a replacement player playing ahead of him? Paul was decent in the CPL despite the pitches not particularly being conducive to pacers and has match experience in recent months, something Sams only had previously with warmup games for Australia. The BBL has been notorious for it's 'star players' flopping in the IPL due to it's declining quality. D'Arcy Short always looks worth a million dollars when he plays in it but was terrible in the IPL. Even considering last season's performers, the likes of Finch, Philippe, Maxwell, Carey have all barely been worth it and Stoinis despite a positive start has generally been inconsistent. Sams' does not have the pace to threaten a domestic batsman, his variations are not particularly difficult to pick or hit.[DOUBLEPOST=1604593954][/DOUBLEPOST]

Looks like a walking wicket everytime. Something has gone wrong in the Delhi camp with how terrible their batsmen have become all of a sudden in the second half of the season.

Prithvi Shaw has a huge attitude problem. His determination to not learn has been a well renowned murmur in India's cricket ranks.
