Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Rohit
Lynn
Surya
Kishan
Pollard
H Pandya
Neesham
Jayant
R Chahar
Boult
Bumrah

What's your take? Lynn or de Kock/ Kishan or S Tiwary is the take.

Looks ideal. I don't see why this lineup shouldn't be played next time. I think dropping Ishan for Tiwary doesn't feel right yet, he should be handed a couple more chances. Also including Neesham means Pollard should go for a couple of overs, but that was the case with Krunal around anyways, so not much to worry about.

But they still managed to get two wins on the board at least.
I was talking about the batting. Bowling is spot on apart from some duds from Bumrah (those two no bowls particular) and Krunal. Fielding is meh.

If KKR wants to win, Russell needs to bat at -
No 1. Opening. He could be the next Gayle. His T10 record, as an opner is outstanding. :D

I've actually given this serious thought and barring 2019 Russell where he looked like a genuine batsman, no other form of him can merit an opening spot. Russell against a moving ball could be a disaster.

Anyone else feel that Samson has absolutely no control over this team. Especially over the overseas picks. He seems very uninvolved and aloof (probably because he doesn't get the respect a captain deserves from the team)

Today Morris was taking wickets and he was not even coming up to celebrate, while the rest of the youngsters were flocking morris and the other bowlers.

I think rr made a blunder by picking him as captain here. Seems to shy by temperament and his performance as usual seems to be a 2 knock wonder. Tactically he seems no genius either

Buttler a sure starter in the Royals line-up with international experience wasn't given that role. Surprising!!!

Irrespective of whether they win or not, Kolkata remains a fascinating side to me. A prototype for the future T20 franchise that gets the numbers, match-ups and other hard details right whilst having the occasional moment of gut thinking to play surprise.

I felt the exact same thing too... For example, today there was a Morris wide delivery that Russell missed and Samson took the ball. Samson appealed very enthusiastically for the catch... But Morris instantly gestured to him to return back the ball and his facial expression was pretty damn dismissive, considering that it was his captain who was appealing for that catch. Such expressions/body language can be giveaways at times, and I did feel Samson was not commanding the respect within the team.

Kinda have the feeling that Samson at some point, might put down the captaincy role like how Dinesh Karthik did it with KKR.
