Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Meanwhile how good has Avesh Khan been this tournament.Picked up wickets regularly this tournament and best part is he knows his straight which is been a hit the deck bowler and even in the death he just bowled on the pitch and was rewarded and the DC management have Utilized him well.

And good to see the class of 2016 U19 and 2018 still prevalent and in the reckoning for the senior squad.

Pant,Kishan,Sundar alongside Khaleel Ahmed from 2016 and Shaw , Gill from the 2018 squad as well have played for India.

Now Avesh Khan doing good and so is Arshdeep Singh.

Avesh Khan is doing great with his Yorkers in death. He is at no.2 on purple cap standing with 12 wickets. Fact is that he was in RCB team before and was never given a chance. Good that he is being utilised well in other team. He has a great future if he continues the ways he is doing now.

RCB just got out of jail there by half a hair!!! WOW!! Brilliant over that from Siraj that truly choked Pant and Heytmer!!! Wonderful!

He is not the same Pant who used to sixes on fast bowlers over deep mid-wicket and long-on.

I have noticed both Pant and Pandya are not the same big hitters which they were in 2018. They both mostly targets spinners for sixes and chokes against quality fast bowling. They take single and doubles on fast bowlers but fail to hit big sixes.

Can someone show me balls taken per six for both Pant and Pandya on fast bowlers and spinners since 2020? I am sure this will be lesser on spinners than fast bowlers.

What did Samson do in Australia tour? o.O
Irrelevant. Mediocre batters often find solace in Test cricket, where their inability (i.e. lack of talent, potential, limited ceiling) to force the pace against fast bowling is not found out. Think of Pujara, Pant or Rahane. Samson's ceiling is too high - Test cricket does not deserve an immense talent like this. Let the lesser players do hard work and bat defensively, like a Pujara or a Pant.

Fair enough, you're on the list now. I can't take it anymore.

Just hope the Delhi tracks aren't as slow and tricky as Chepauk. Everyone knew that SRH had a weak middle order, but it would occasionally do decent on some good tracks. This time around, they've got heavily exposed with the middle overs issues and struggled just as much as MI and KKR with strong batting lineups and even batting second for all of their games when defending has always been Hyderabad's strength.

Pretty must win game for SRH here. Seasons not over, but if they lose to CSK today it's pretty much over. Seems like Pandey will come back to the side following Virat Singh's struggles from the last game. I don't think Williamson should be demoted down the order to accommodate him, Pandey should bat only at #4 or nothing else. Williamson at 3 is the best way to use him going forward. Suchith seems to be a useful bat judging from his last over heroics that pushed the game to a super over, bowled tidy as well. Also, Abdul Samad should be in the side as soon as he's good to go from his injuries. Would go with:

Warner
Bairstow
Kane
Pandey
Shankar
Jadhav/Samad
Abhishek/Khaleel
Suchith
Rashid
Bhuvi
Kaul

Disheartening to see SRH almost out this early in the tournament.. We lost 3 games which we should have won. If I'm being honest, winning 7 out of the remaining 9 matches is a huge ask and in all probability we can deduce that it's over for SRH.

Did feel a little content with DC losing the match yesterday by 1 run as that was the difference between SRH and DC the other day :p
