Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Also, I can see why @Yash. was missing Moises in the SRH camp. Someone who makes things happen and can't be kept out of the field.
He is not suitable at 6-7.

I'll admit that I haven’t followed the second leg at all, but AB at 5 in a T20? Why wouldn’t you want a top 4 of VK, Padikkal, AB and Maxwell?

Maybe the fact that AB de Villiers have scored at a better rate in the first half and none of the batsmen have been as explosive as him. So maybe he has been given the role of a finisher. Dan Christian's poor returns meant RCB needed someone else to perform that role. I think RCB have managed a good score considering how the pitch has played thus far in the tournament. I haven't watched the game today so have no idea about the surface.

FU*K THIS TEAM!

I don't know why everyone around the world feels Sam Curran the Cricketer isn't a worthy enough and there a lot of better players than him. I feel the guy is just special and has a lot of potential. He can truly show only if he gets utilised in the right way. Atleast give him time, he is just 23!!!

I did not say Sam Curran is not a worthy enough player! I just said that I don't see his value enough if he does not get to bat more often. Right now with the kind of batting lineup CSK has built and probably might use the same template for some years forward, they want to bat really deep so that they can turn on the heat in the middle overs. If SamC bats at 8, he's not going to get enough opportunities at all. And from what I've seen of his bowling, he keeps bowling a lot of freebies. He might improve with the ball enough in the future (maybe?!) but right now his best feature is with the bat and he needs more chances.

I am confident CSK will back him and will try to get him back (or maybe even retain him at the cost of Ruturaj, which IMHO is a risky move as I prefer Rutu to Curran as that's a possible future Indian captaincy that we need to keep on hand). But I feel things have changed from last year where Sam Curran was used every possible way with the bat and his value showed. It also kinda rubbed off a bit on his bowling.

On slow and tacky pitches, ABD coming up the order is important as he seems to struggle a bit when he does not get enough pace on the ball... But on truer wickets, ABD at 5 helps in getting that mighty explosive finish towards the end!
