He hasn't even signed up in the auctions.Tomorrow is the day, when Mushfiqur Rahim goes unsold for the 14th time running....
So he knew the consequences. He hasn't even signed up in the auctions.
Its criminal that Sai Kishore did not play a single game for CSK in three years. I know all of the praise the franchise gets and deserves for overachieving in the previous cycle but the mismanagement of him and to a lesser extent Gaikwad and Jagadeesan is really shameful.
Also it seems like Otswal has a suspect action. Not like it will stop franchises from going after him but it is something to look out for.
I read on Cricinfo that few players might be up for the auction through a secret bid. Well- that sounds a little interesting!
By the term secret bid I can understand that the teams are going to submit a list of players with the amount they are willing to spend on that player. Now if 2 teams come up with similar amounts for a certain player then there would be a second round bid where the team that comes up with a higher bid gets to retain the player.
Correct me if wrong
Yes. Sai Kishore needs a new team desperately. He won’t move forward at all, with CSK when Jadeja is around. He’s an excellent bowler who even bowls Powerplay, while Jadeja always comes after PP is done.
I think even Kings Xi could do better.I thought I'd have a look through the IPL auction list and pick out the players I'd try to sign if I had my own IPL franchise. I'll try to pick at least one player from each set until I reach 18 to keep things realistic.
Looking at that I definitely come out a bit light on Indian seamers, but my best XI looks very good
- Ravichandran Ashwin - stock spinner
- Devdutt Padikkal - young, expensive, future face of the franchise
- Wanindu Hasaranga - three-dimensional player; foreign spinners usually cheaper ( 1)
- Krunal Pandya - a vital cog in balancing any team
- Nicholas Pooran - a personal favourite player; middle-order specialists are important ( 2)
- Mark Wood - pace is pace, yaaar? ( 3)
- Amit Mishra - still an excellent spinner; fields at short third
- Priyam Garg - honestly if I mamaged to get those first seven then I probably couldn't afford Garg
- Kamlesh Nagarkoti - horrible injury history could make him a bargain
- KS Bharat - an easy pick for a pure gloveman
- Jitesh Sharma -scores very fast indeed
- Tushar Deshpande - could be a really good off-pace option to balance the seam attack
- Sandeep Lamichhane - again, not being Indian could make him a bargain ( 4)
- Marnus Labuschagne - class player, but admittedly unproven in T20s ( 5)
- Ajinkya Rahane - my franchise caprain if I could get him
- Odean Smith - possibly the next Dre Russ; won't be cheap ( 6)
- Chetan Sakariya - a clever left-arm option
- Shahbaz Nadeem - very much a back-up spinner
- Ricky Bhui - hits a large cricket ball
- Rinku Singh - whatever money it takes, empty the purse to get him in
- Alex Hales - just a huge pick this late in the game ( 7)
- Tim David - such a clean hitter, absolutely worth a punt ( 8)
- Atharva Taids - sneaky late uncapped player; scores fast, bowls dots
- Raj Bawa - could sneak through as a bargain
- Akshay Karnewar - ambidextrous.
And that's why I'm not paid the big bucks.
- Alex Hales OR Marnus Labuschagne
- Devdutt Padikkal
- Ajinkya Rahane
- Rinku Singh
- Nicholas Pooran
- Krunal Pandya
- Wanindu Hasaranga OR Odean Smith
- Ravichandran Ashwin
- Mark Wood
- Chetan Sakariya
- Amit Mishra OR Tushar Dashpande
It was not a successI think even Kings Xi could do better.
In fairness, just refreshing myself with who has been retained it is a tough ask to find Indian players that haven't already been taken. It was not a success
