Indian Premier League - General Discussion

According to you, who has had the best auction so far?

I wish I knew what each squad looked like earlier and the amount of money they had to answer this properly. :p

From just looking at the list of players bought and a rough approximation of what the squads may have looked like prior to this auction… I’d have to say it’s Mumbai. Coetzee is an incredible signing even without his comparatively low price and then you add in Madushanka who was great for a shambolic Lankan team at the WC… two great deals. If you consider Hardik and Green trades as part of this then they’re the easy winner so far.

As @Viper. pointed out all this squad lacks at the moment is a solid overseas batter who can serve as a starter like Rilee and the XI seems complete.

Sameer Rizvi for 8.4 crores!!!! WTH? He might be great (I see he has a batting S/R of 134 and an off break bowler) but with only 11.6 cr left, spending 8.4c on a relatively unknown player?

@Bevab Maybe you know more of Rizvi, do you?

Did we really get Starc for that much money??? This entire management needs to be fired. He aint worth that! And what the fearsome tweak happens if he pulls out of the IPL like he always does?

I actually don't. :D

Just looking at his numbers though they're really solid. Cricinfo describes him as the leading six hitter in the UP T20 league in the previous edition. He's eighth on the list for the last SMAT and was Uttar Pradesh's top run scorer in the same ahead of Rinku and Rana.

Looks like he could put pressure on Dube or Rahane if they revert to their usual inconsistency. That is assuming Dhoni and Fleming are willing to play him rather than stick with out of form players for the entire campaign.

From his conversation at the moment and the earlier instruction from CA for their players to participate in the IPL actively as practice for the WC I think this may be the season where we see the unicorn in action.

Can't believe they scheduled this while an India match is going on

Even they know that a meaningless bilateral is truly meaningless. #DeathOfODICricket
