It’s extremely unlikely we’ll abandon Pathirana unless he plays as badly as he does with Sri Lanka for us. There’s no domestic player that can do what he does where as we’ve got other domestic options that can do a poor man’s job of those overseas players.

I’m bemused as to why you continually ignore the best pacer in Matt Henry from your list in these discussions , he’s a class apart from every suggestion you’ve made there other than Taskin who won’t be available thanks to the BCB anyways.

His numbers since the start of 2022 in all T20s read; 46 wickets at an economy of 8.07 and an average of 17.86. The next best from the others you put up is Milne who averages close to 21 and then it’s Taskin who does average 21.

He’s been a world class multi-format pacer for a while now; averaged below 30 since 2021 in tests, 21 in T20Is since his recall this year and his ODI record was excellent already. Having watched him bowl tirelessly on those roads of Pakistan and also in a few T20Is… he’s definitely not the same bloke who was once shoehorned as an ODI specialist.
