The Phil Salt auction is a weird and illogical one. I don't understand why KKR kept bidding for him when they could have simply swooped in with a higher amount on the RTM.

If you have the option of an RTM and around INR23 CR, you cant keep raising the paddle from INR 4CR to INR 11CR (as it's going right now)

They can only use it once, right? So, they might want to save it for a specific player.

Right and then they bought Siraj for 12cr and Prasidh (who is a decent bowler in his own right but no Shami) for 9.5 cr. Mind boggling.

I don't know what KKR sees in Venkatesh Iyer the batsmen coz he hasn't really set the world on fire and with Russell around they don't need his bowling too. Hardly adds anything to the mix worth spending that much money for just one quality of being a floater in batting position.

Khaeel is underpaid at under 5 crores. Brilliant buy from CSK.

An emotional reunion but a slightly overpriced one for CSK, with R Ashwin! However Rahul Tripathi and Rachin Ravindra were steals at 3.4 cr and 4cr respectively. And expected and a good decision to buy Conway back and his price is justified. Khaleel is also a good one at 4.8cr.

With Jadeja and Ashwin reuniting back together, hope Chepauk returns to its traditional spinning wickets for a chokehold.

So far, pretty good CSK!

Most of the auction goers seems very tired and sleepy. Can't be that bad a jet lag considering that Saudi is simply a 3/3.5 hour flight from India.

Noor Ahmed is a good buy. Maybe 3c overpriced, but he will fit really well within CSK who havent had a good leg spinner for quite sometime now (Theekshana was more of a mystery spinner).

10CR is over the top for Noor. And really, they have too many. Forget not, they will pick up a few spin bowling AR as well.

Among the squads so far, I feel DC has got a good looking one here. They seem to have balanced KLRs selfishness with some real stroke makers here and the bowling looks good, on paper.

In terms of the best bowling lineup,GT has good shot at it. Remains to be seen though how Nehra moulds the Indian attack in a year there.

For all the hype and rumor mongering about Rishabh Pant and CSK, I am very happy that CSK didnt even raise a paddle for him. I feel that his T20 record is grossly overvalued and the same can be said about his captaincy potential. It's weird that LSG has stacked up Pant, Pooran, Miller for a track like the Ekana stadium. I am thinking that they might be revamping the pitch for better returns for these batters?
