Indian Premier League - General Discussion

He's absolute box office material. Quite scary to imagine how good he could become under MI's guidance.

On an interesting note, this year SMAT's leading run-scorer in Tanmay Agarwal did not receive a single bid. The man is a Hyderabadi to boot. Surely worth a token bid at least from SRH?
We were 10l short at the end.

What a roller coaster weekend this was!!! Now, March 27th cant come sooner! :cheers:thumbs Lot of other squads look very good (pretty impressed with Delhi, Punjab, Lucknow).

Just hope this kinda passion ports over to the Indian national team. Just miss those days when I used to stay up like this and watch international cricket.

Tbh, I feel this time CSK gonna beat us twice.

Can we all just give a huge round of applause for Charu Sharma :clap

He just nailed it like a boss.

He was tremendous! I know some people had issues with his reluctance to keep things moving, but he did mention that this was in the interest of the players that he wanted to get them the best possible prices.

He also brought in some entertainment to his work.

Dude, dont even begin yet with the reverse jinx... :D I've it all completely up my sleeve. You guys (Mumbai) played a similar game in the auction to CSK and did an even better job towards the end of picking some real steal. And the highlight of the auction was the futuristic pick of Archer. You've Mills this year and next year you're going to unleash the hell of Archer-Bumrah on the rest of us. We will need to start praying to the cricketing gods that Archer loses form or prolongs his injury (dont want that on Jassi; for India sake). :p

Well two of my personal favorite t20 players are in MI.

Tim David and Daniel Sams.

Followed Sams for the last 3 years in the bbl and has tremendous potential to be a world class all rounder. (Can tonk the ball long and has some good variations up his sleeves while bowling).

Tim David has established himself in the T20 leagues across the world and is quite a hitter.

The gamble for MI is the Indian players which needs to fit and perform well both bowlers and batsmen.

Exactly what I'm fearing @SaiSrini We don't have Indian batsmen as backups, absolutely 0.

Considering Rohit Surya Ishan and Verma stsrt every game, we only have Anmolpreet as a backup and he's yet to be tested at the IPL level, I guess he played a solitary game when Rohit was injured. Plus, Verma doesn't have any prior IPL experience and he's just 19. We could have got an experienced Indian middle order player like a Nair or a Pandey or our very own Lord Tiwary.

Its time to play the inexperienced when you have a pool of experience surrounding them in every possible direction. Rohit, Ishan, SKY, David and Pollard all have the huge experience (David due to his big exposure across worldwide leagues). With all of this, it makes perfect sense to play Tilak Verma and ease him into the squad and let him flourish. And Rohit-MI have shown in the past that they're open to doing these sort of moves, to build player confidence and let them grow.
