Rajasthan are doing their Net Run Rate MASSIVE favors here. This is seriously a FRYING of KKR! Amazing batting from Jaiswal and Samson. The team knows that they could get into an NRR situation as few other teams can also end up on 16 points.

Yes unofficially they are officially out. RR compared to KKR deserved to be in top 4 because of the cricket they have played all IPL long.

KKR has to officially let go everyone and start from scratch next season. Russel and Narine are past their prime, no other good overseas option, Iyer coming will not help them at all, no good bowling option, no good batting option, this team is doomed and one of the worst franchise think tank I have seen a while and mind you I have seen PBKS grow and off late Team India in ICC tournaments.

On Pathirana - you are right! Sources say that MSD saw videos from a local SL tournament of him and sent him a letter to get vaccinated so that he can join CSK. Similarly, Theekshana was a CSK management decision after seeing his bowling stats in SL's local tournament. Theekshana hasnt set this IPL on fire, but he was excellent last year and also did really well for JSK in the SAT20. For so long, CSK stayed away from picking Sri Lankan players (due to the whole politics of Sri Lanka vs Tamil Eelam issue) but the environment has changed and CSK have smartly got these two boys.

I'm speaking about the auction prior to the mega auction. It was Maxwell/Moeen and I was dead certain CSK would get Moeen. We chatted about this as well.

Mix and match formula, perhaps? But, as you rightly mentioned, this should have happened either based off 2020 or 2021. Guessing they couldnt come up with a proper formula for the same.

I would honestly like them to employ this below system:

1. Qualifier 1- Team finishing Number 1
2. Eliminator 1- Team finishing Number 3
3. Qualifier 2- hosted by the loser of Q1
4. Final- to be hosted by the winner of Q1

This will create logistical headaches for the organizers to wait and see the league table results before deciding venues.

I feel the plan of "previous IPL winner hosting the opening game, Qualifier 2 and final, with the runner up hosting Qualifier 1 and Eliminator" is a good plan. BCCI deviated from it by not giving Rajasthan Qualifier 1 and Eliminator this year. With a return to home/away, that should have been the venue.
 
Is Vishnu Vinod finally delivering in the IPL?! :eek:
