Tremendous effort from our boys, everyone wrote us off. To be honest, we deserved the win. Just silly mistakes cost us big time.

I feel sorry for Patel, everyone's gonna be on his back for sure.

How do we not deserve to be in the final?

We're easily the second best team in the league. We toppled to so called "Most balanced team" thrice, all comprehensively.

it was a great tournament for tanvir who won the purple cap by taking 22 wickets...and congrats to watson too on his man of the series award although tanvir wasn't far behind you know

I think we kept our cool quite well when Yusuf was going so well!

You have no basis for your argument, the game couldn't have gotten closer and it was just a matter of luck to be honest.

Well that's poor captaincy for me and I called it at the start of the over. Happened when RR played Hyderabad and Symond's had the final over.

Actually if I was Dhoni and I had only five bowlers to choose from, I would have let Balaji bowl earlier and then let my best bowlers bowl in the final overs. Because he could notice Balaji was leaking runs and wasn't in form. But Dhoni was probably thinking to cut the run flow first. After he was finished with Ntini's bowling, he didn't have any option left by letting Balaji bowl.

Y Pathan has been awesome throughout the series.
I would give most of credit to Warne for this great win.

Couple of performance from Marsh and Gambhir were also great.They just have proved that you don't need high money to score.

Why have you deserved a win?

RR has beaten you twice in League matches plus RR has lost only 2 Matches.

I meant looking at the performance today. We just needed to get Yusuf out early, if only Raina held onto that catch.

Basically, both teams were brilliant, but I felt we were the better side on the day. But, I guess RR were far more deserving in the bigger picture.

Cricman - I think Punjab were better than us in the tournament, we were probably the third or fourth best team. Delhi might be the better team, comparing to us, they have just gone off the boil lately.

YES WE DID DESERVE THE WIN!!!! Actually either team didnt deserve to lose... but T20 has to have a winner, and here it was Rajasthan. Any team that can take the result of the game to the final ball deserves to win (both teams).. At many stages, RR looked like running away and CSK kept plugging back in.....

Punjab beat all other teams, but lost thrice to us. I think CSK is the second best to RR in the tournament, and the result today has made the rankings perfect on the overall (RR, CSK, Punjab and DDD).

If you say Dhoni had no option left then Please He has brought that condition by himself.
He should have given second last over to Balaji where last to Ntini.It is general captain sense.
That were my point that in T20 world cup also He did same mistake but courtesy to Misbah India won and Dhoni called his stupid mistake a instinct.
Then What about today?

Dhoni didnt do anything wrong... He did well in bringing Ntini onto the 19th over. Had he given it to Balaji at that time, Warne and co could well have finished the game in the 19th over itself (its lesser pressure for the batting side to play the 19th over than the 20th). And had Ntini got some wickets in the 19th over, the pressure would have been huge for Rajasthan, and Dhoni punted on it. His decision was right. It didnt go according to the script for CSK today at that time.

Whatever, the IPL was fun but it is now over. I'm all set and ready to start supporting India again, and I can't wait till the boys in blue step on the field to take on Pakistan.

I am especially keen on how Yusuf and Raina perform in the series, it will be a refreshing change to start supporting Yusuf!

what a great game to finish the ipl.

i have always wanted india to pick y pathan and they have and he has showed that he has got talent in the semi and final.

international we will have to see how it goes, but he has done well.

great game today, great league, it has been great too watch.

Looking at the whole league you would have to say RR deserved, but credit to everyone else.

cant wait for either the champions league that they are talking about or next years ipl.

It will be nice to start supporting Yousuf.... IPL has broken lot of myths. It shows that regionalism is very much alive and kicking in India! This concept was thrashed by many, but it is a mega hit... It doesnt need to be a hit in other countries, but in most of them, its a superhit too.

Indeed, but Dhoni does believe in RMF bowlers for the final over. He has used Joginder Sharma twice on in similar occasions. He is a believer in not saving the best bowlers but rather bowling them out before the last over in an attempt to steal the game before it gets so close.

It was a cracking final no doubt, and to go to the final ball, well is simply fantastic (actually it makes me wonder if the match was fixed)

RR deserved to win the tournament really. They were the Australia of the IPL, dominated from start to beginning. Also they did benefit from not losing their international players, but again their Indian contingent also fired well beyond expectation. Yousuf Pathan came off age in this tournament, although I think he will never be a good international cricketer outside T20.

Punjab were the second best team in the tournament, and there is absolutely no doubt about that. Chennai were the bogey team for Punjab, but the Super Kings lost a lot of random matches while Punjab on the other hand did actually beat the Royals albeit in a dead rubber.

Chennai were joint third along with Delhi, who again did lose a lot of random matches.

Overall, the IPL did well. But it was way too long. They should really break the eight teams into two groups, so that each team just plays six group matches, and the top two from each group making it to the semis.

End of the day Twenty20 is still the glamour and glitz form of the sport. It is like an awesome trailer of a movie, which might make average cricketers like Marsh and Y. Pathan look like superstars. But then I love trailers!!
