We are just 8 runs short of 300. Hope we get there and to much more if we can. Any amount of runs would help on this wicket. Its much better for batting now than it was yesterday and the batters should also be more cautious after the first innings. Hope India wins it!:yes

Not over folks. I don't think India are in as strong a position as others are saying. This is still a pretty good wicket. If India had good bowlers I'd be far more confident. I still think it's 50-50, India should be thinking greedy and going for another 40 runs from here on (don't know if it will happen).

The tail is annoying me by pushing out to Morkel's bouncy balls that are a foot outside off stump and they end up gliding it to second slip. Just leave it dammit ! I can understand getting out to a full swinger from Steyn, but Morkel and Tsotsobe can be combated.

One of the most under-rated players ever, VVS Laxman is doing it again for us. Just shows how precious he is for our side.

This tour might be the end of Laxman
Are you sure his career is over? :rolleyes

End of Laxman? Maybe Mark misunderstood Dravid for Laxman?:p Laxman cant go anywhere. We need him until we find someone close to him in terms of the finishing attitude.

Laxman is good enough for atleast 2 years more. He doesnt play ODI's or T20's, and his gameplay suggests he can do good for another 2 years. The guy I am worried about is Dravid. I hope Dravid knows when he has to leave.

Edit: Damn, Ishant gone with India 3 runs away from that 300 run lead. Hope Sreesanth doesnt come out and take a swipe at the ball.:facepalm

Anyway, getting back to the match. Argh. Annoying. Why do both sides like to throw away the initiative ?

EDIT: If I was SA chasing this score I'd be fairly confident.

Maybe the other side is seizing it or the side that has it finds it hard to keep it with them for long?:D

Come on Adarsh, be a little more positive please!:yes

Sigh, VVS deserved a ton, he looked quite distraught that he'd missed out on a century in South Africa. Would've been special to him.

Anyway, business time. Let's get Smith out of the way soon, Zak, and then get into some action. This could be excruciating now for an Indian fan.

Unlucky Laxman. He deserved to reach to his hundred but well he hasn't. Excellent innings though from him.

I agree. Smith is a huge wicket. He has been involved significantly in each SAF's 4th innings chases in the past 3-4 years.

The key is to control the run rate. The main culprits are Ishant and Sreesanth, and they really need to keep it tight. Let Zak and Harby do the magic, if those keep things tight they'll end up with a couple of wickets. Control the runrate, control the match.
