Marshall needs to convert his score into a 100 so New Zealand stand some chance at least.

60 runs from 10 overs is getable but batting with just about the tail will be difficult for Marshall

Heat Developing All Around

( Marshall Vs Lanka, A Tight Contest)

with last 10 Overs remaining, there was pressure mounted on both the sides as they cant offer to make even a small mistake. Vaas and Malinga had six Overs left together, so Mahela was having a thought to use them up in last six overs and was operating with Murali (who had one over left), Jayasuriya and Zoysa for the four Overs.

McCullum, Second Victim of Muralitharan

mccullumoutvu5.jpg

Murali bowled his favourite doosra in his final delivery of his last over(10) and he was rewarded with the wicket of McCullum.

McCullum made a brave attempt, that too under pressure to sweep that dangerous delivery and as a result, he missed the line completely and ball striked the stumps resulting in a clean bowled. Murali was delighted and Lankans were happy that they were able to break this pair where McCullum have been a steady support to Marshall.

McCullum walked to dressing room and tension increased more in Kiwi dressing room and it was found more infact with the coach who was biting his nails :D Vettori, who has the ability to play handy knocks arrives at the crease with pressure mounting more on Marshall!

Well Made Hundred From Marshall!

marshal100tu9.jpg

Meanwhile, Marshall brought his century and raised his bat towards the dressing room but there was no happiness in his face! There seemed to be tension existing in Marshall's reaction when he raised his bat towards the dressing room and crowd. The entire NZ team is depending on this man to make a match for them but Lankans are equally fighting for their victory!

Beautiful Delivery Dismissing Vettori!

vettorioutvx0.jpg

Well, 44 Overs ended and Mahela without any hesitation gave the ball to Vaas to continue. Its expected that Vaas and Maling wud continue the last 6 overs for Lankans.

Vaas bowled a beautiful delivery that moved into Vettori... Vettori, while trying to play at the delivery, missed the movement completely that made the ball to move in the gap between bat and pad ( infact there was a huge gap ) and took the bails off the stumps. Vettori cant believe that ball took the bails off!

Vaas was delighted to strike at the crucial time when Lankans were looking for wickets. This added one more to the wicket column of Kiwis which increased to seven now! The fans of SriLanka are jumping from their seats but tension is kept on mounting among Kiwi supporters and Kiwi dressing room.

Kiwis only hope is, Marshall is still battling for Kiwis. The asking rate also increased to above 6 Per Over when 45 overs ended.

NewZealand :- 195/7(45)
Marshall : 103*(129)
Franklin : 0*(3)

NewZealand Need 35 Runs from 30 balls.
Vettori : 8(9) Dismissed by Vaas.
McCullum : 26(45) Dismissed by Muralitharan.

Game. Set. Match Sri Lanka.

Sorry New Zealand, you can't win with one batsman I'm afraid.

hey Franklin is a quality all-rounder and is a very capable batsman!
New Zealand are favourites for me and i am backing them to win :)

NZ Needs 9Runs From 1Over!

( Malinga Ready To Bowl LastOver)

4549updateyz6.jpg

Marshall have completely changed the direction of game which was in Lankan's favour, but still its not yet finished and its anyone game. Marshall totally dominated both the bowlers, Vaas & Malinga and got some useful boundaries.

His main intension was to keep himself on strike with the help of Franklin. Franklin also got a useful boundary which was actually mis-fielded by Vaas under pressure! Pressure & Tension spreaded through out the stadium as its still uncertain who is going to win this game.

Marshall, who is handling the bowlers well, took his team close to the target with nine runs needs from the last Over. Its not going to be easy at the same time because, Jayawardena had given the ball to Malinga to continue! He was smashed for some runs by Marshall lately but his bouncers & yorkers may be handy at anytime.

So, 50th Over is going to faced by Marshall and Malinga is having the ball! Jayawardena took some time to settle the field and mostly Lankans are looking for a single from Marshall and keep Franklin on strike. Both the coaches in the dressing room have started to bite the nails now :D and it seemed no one was in their seats... All waiting for the result of this game!

Can Marshall do it for Kiwis????
or Can Malinga do it for Lankans???
Well the answer to be known shortly :)

NewZealand :- 221/7(49)
Marshall : 120*(140)
Franklin : 9*(15)

NewZealand Need 9 Runs from 6 balls.
Pressure On Both The Teams Now!

Suren I hate you :p I said this was done and dusted but you proved me wrong!

Good luck to Kiwis now :D

Malinga's Great Start To The Over

( Franklin RunOut, More Pressure on Kiwis )

Malinga continued the 50th over and infact he had a very great start to the over... Before he started his runnerup, Mahela had a serious chat with Malinga along with Atapattu! At the same time, some message came from Kiwi dressing room through water brought by Patel for Marshall :D

First Ball
(Targetted on Marshall's RibCage)

49dv0.jpg

Malinga delivered a quick bouncer and Marshall tried to put it away aggressively! But he was unlucky that he missed it completely and as a result, the ball struck the ribcage area! Marshall suffered from pain and sat completely on the ground. Kiwi fans went to complete silence!

After few minutes of pain, Marshall with some difficult got ready to face the next ball! But this dot ball turned as an valuable one to Lankans! Pressure continued to mount on kiwis as they need 9 Runs from 5 Balls!

Second Ball

( Marshall Wants Strike, and Hence RunOut)

492cc9.jpg

With just five balls remaining, Kiwis needed Marshall to face all the five balls! It was an yorker attempted by Malinga that turned out to be an full toss, which Marshall put it away aggressively again!

The ball was travelling between the boundary fielders, Vaas & Zoysa! Marshall ran the first run very hard and wanted to keep the strike and hence he called Franklin in hurry... Meanwhile, it was an fantastic one handed pickup and one handed throw from Vaas which was very quick that made Marshall to change the decision of second run. But before Franklin returned to crease, bails were taken off by Sangakkara!

Lankans were delighted a lots, while massive pressure is on NewZealand. Franklin gave a sad look to Marshall and Marshall threw his bat away to the ground in frustration! Kiwi coach had his hands on his head now and also most of the players in Kiwi dressing room stood like that! It was a huge disappointment for Kiwis!

Now, its a golden chance for Lanka to utilise it! New batsman, Mills is on strike and importantly, Marshall is off the strike!

NewZealand Need 8 Runs From 4 Balls, Marshall in Non Striker's end!

100 pages, well done. Good work keeping this going.
Tight stuff, Marshall can do it...c'mon.
Nah, Lanka will win...

Excellent Over For Lanka So Far!

( Mills Dismissed, Now Only One Wicket Left )

With the great first two balls from Malinga with only one run coming from it and also a wicket, the next two balls were impressive too for Malinga! Malinga is looking very threatening in his last over so far!

Third Ball

(Mills Out For Duck Increasing the Pressure for Kiwis)

millsouttl5.jpg

With 8 runs needed from four balls which seemed to be a tough task, it was pre determined strategy for Mills from the dressing room that he had to give strike to Marshall the very first ball!

Mills, who arrived in pressure, after having some chat with Marshall got ready to face the next ball from Malinga! It was a quick delivery which Mills just tried to play it for a single, but the ball moved in a bit striking the pads and there was a huge confident appeal from Malinga and also from entire Lankan team! Not only from Lankan team but there were shouts from Lankan spectators as well!

It was a huge roaring noise that put Umpire in pressure as well, but after some thinking, the umpire raised his finger and Malinga got excited on seeing this! He started running towards his skipper, Mahela and there was a huge celebration from Lankan team.

Lankan spectators were jumping and dancing from the seats as if the result has been obtained. Kiwi fans have gone speechless now. There was nothing for them to cheer about as the first three balls produced two wickets in crucial stage of the game!

With NewZealand Nine Wickets down, Shane Bond who is the last batsman for Kiwis walks into the field under huge mountains of pressure! Lankans just need only one wicket to finish this off but still it seemed like lots of work to do for kiwis though only three balls left!

Fourth Ball
(Atlast Marshall Gets Strike, With Risky Single from Bond)

494gr1.jpg

Bond was ready to face his first delivery with lot and lots of pressure as one wicket now will finish the entire match itself! Malinga also seemed to be confused in the selection of ball to bowl to Bond. He must be make sure not to give away extras too!

Atlast Bond got ready and Malinga delivered a quick delivery again that was moving away from Bond. Bond did something like to cut that delivery which he itself doesnt knw what he he was doing due to pressure :D and it resulted in the edge but was travelling safely to the boundary fielder and Marshall atlast came to strike which Kiwis wanted.

But when Marshall came to strike, the target is looking as a tough task as only two singles came from first four balls which means that still seven runs are needed now which inturn implies that atleast two boundaries are required from Malinga's last two balls!

NewZealand Need 7 Runs From 2 Balls with One Wicket Remaining, Marshall on Strike!
