Steady Progress By Bangladesh
( Bowlers Troubling The Batsmen )

Well, its becos of the bowler friendly pitch, the runs were not flowing freely and also batsmen were troubled the most by Aussie bowlers. Lee and Hogg continued after the opening bowlers and it was Hogg who was very impressive of all. The pitch started assisting the spinners already. The batsmen's patience was tested the most and Nafees was the only batsmen to handle it well.

Bashar, The First Victim of Hogg

basharoutsm3.jpg

Bashar was giving a patient stand to Nafees as Nafees was batting nicely in one end. Bashar was bit uncomfortable against the pace though. Hogg in his first over, striked with the wicket of Bashar getting a breakthrough for Aussies.

Hogg bowled an normal delivery which Bashar tried to go over the top by attempting an aggressive sweep shot. But he missed the line completely and was trapped for a LBW. There was a huge confident shout from Hogg and the umpire without any hesitation, raised his fingers resulting in the dismissal of Bashar.

Hogg was delighted to get a wicket in his first over but Bashar who was supposed to play an supportive role, was frustrated and made his way back to the pavilion. Bangladesh looked to be in deep trouble and the skipper, Ashraful replaced Bashar at the crease!

Nafees In Complete Control

nafeesbrillianteo6.jpg

Nafees was brilliant in handling the bowlers. He handled it very confidently.. i.e, he played every shot with confidence and moved his feet very well. Nafees seemed to be the only problem for Aussies.

Also, interesting is, Nafees used the pace of Lee and smashed few boundaries in a cunning way. At the same time, He was also watchful against Hogg. He played some sweep shots comfortably against Hogg. Overall, Nafees played lovely shots all around the ground.

While in the other end, Ashraful was happy to be off strike most of the times as he was contented to keep his well settled partner on strike. Ponting seemed to be bit worried about Nafees but Aussies have done well in controlling the scoring rate of Bangla. Also, Ponting had a defensive wide spread field to Nafees and was attacking Ashraful more!

Ashraful,The Second Victim of Hogg!

ashrafuloutuf6.jpg

Hogg striked for the second time with the important wicket of Bangla skipper,Ashraful. Its a huge blow again for Bangla as Ashraful had a rapid 50+ against England but now failed against Aussies.

In one of the deliveries of Hogg, Ashraful tried to play an ordinary cover drive where the ball was in air only for some time, but Gillespie, to everyone's suprise, made a huge dive in front and took an magnificent catch dismissing Ashraful.

Ashraful didnt expect this catch and he stood there for some time and made his way towards the pavilion with a worried face. Saleh replaced Ashraful and the huge pressure is mounted on this pair!

Well, 25 Overs have ended and Bangladesh are progressing steadily at the moment. Their hopes are completely on Nafees who is batting very well in the threatening bowling track!

Bangladesh :- 93/3(25)
S.Nafees : 52*(65)
R.Saleh : 3*(13)

M.Ashraful : 9(19) Dismissed by Hogg.
H.Bashar : 22(45) Dismissed by Hogg!

banglas going on steadily they should look for 220

that bashar decision to my looked wrong

great pres suren as ever

Nafees doing great.
Bring in Aftab next, he can absolutely destroy quick bowlers. or, actually, send in Masud to bat for time. He can stick around and rotate singles very well.
Infact, that's all that Bangla has to do. 3-4 singles an over, the odd boundary will come, and then kick off at the end. The left-right combo helps, they should take advantage of it.

Go the Hoggster :) Bangladesh still very much in this with Nafees still around, if we get him that changes it alot.

Hogg carrying the flame for all us Left Arm Chinamen bowlers, there arnt many :p

End of 35 Overs
( Still A Steady RunRate by Bangla Team )

Well, with Nafees going brilliantly in one end, the steady scoring rate continued after 25 Overs. Hogg was being operated continuously from one end and Watson from other end. Everyone expected Symonds to get a ball but so far, Ponting didnt use that option. But Hogg comtinued his impressive form as usual. Saleh was struggling against Aussies!

Nafees's Brilliant Batting

nafeescontinuesoh6.jpg

Nafees continued his matured batting and was troubling the bowlers and fielders! Ponting has started to worry about this aggressive approach. Hogg was quite successful against Nafees though but Watson was smashed for few boundaries.

Bangla's main approach of getting singles regularly and boudaries when chance comes was very clear! Nafees did that well but Saleh was struggling a lots even to get singles as the field set for him was bit attacking type! But Nafees compensated this struggle a bit by getting some quick runs through boundaries.

In Nafees Vs Hogg battle, Nafees was able to hit a huge six which is the only huge hit so far in Bangla's innings. Overall, Nafees was moving his feet well, playing shots well as well as confident in shot selection too.... Ponting is trying hard to find the weakness of Nafees and wants this wicket badly as he is the one who holds the main key for Bangla now!

Saleh, The Third Victim of Hogg!

salehouthr5.jpg

It was Hogg's last over ( 10th Over ) where he was bowling to Nafees. Nafess took a quick single and Saleh was brought on to strike. Saleh's struggle in footwork continued.

In the final delivery, frustrated Saleh tried to play a sweep shot against Hogg and but was not able to play it well. There was a huge sound and ball went to Gilchrist and the keeper started appealing along with Hogg. Umpire took some time and raised his fingers! Saleh was not happy. The replay showed that the ball striked the pads and went to the keeper. There was no contact with the bat but, due to the sound, Umpire prbly must have raised his finger!

Well, the replay shocked many people not mainly becos of the dismissal.. Its becos, its very rare for one of the honest players like Gilchrist to make appeals like this! But its over now and Saleh had started his way towards the dressing room with disappointments. Saleh seemed to be settling with great struggles but it was the wrong stage for him to be dismissed especially when Nafees need a partner like him to support!

Aftab Ahmed replaces Saleh at the crease as Bangla needed some quick runs in the final stages of the game. Also, everyone applauded as Hogg finishes his spell of Ten Overs with three crucial wickets and he was the most impressive of all the bowlers so far!

Well, 35 Overs came to an end. With final fifteen overs, which is the crucial part of the game, Bangla needed the most from Nafees. While Aussies wud be looking for quick wickets trying them to restrict below 200... But Nafees holds the main key now!

Bangladesh :- 147/4(35)
S.Nafees : 77*(91)
A.Ahmed : 9*(6)

Saleh : 23(41) Dismissed by Hogg.
Hogg : 10O - 0M - 38R - 3W

Hogg bowled well and those 3 wkts he took were crucial. The wicket of naffees should keep Bangladesh to the low 200s
