good stuff from bangladesh and especially Aftab Ahemd...he batted really well as usually and lead bangladesh from the front. 231 is very much defendable and with Mortaza and Rafique they can bowl the Aussies out of here

Australia Vs Bangladesh

PreLim Round,Live From Mumbai.

Good Start By Hayden
( Mortaza Strikes with early Wkt Of Gilchrist )

well, Aussie openes Hayden & Gilchrist came out of the dressing room following the fielders and the umpires. Ashraful & Bashar took some time to set the field and finally everthing was ready to proceed and umpire asked Mortaza to start.... Gilchrist faced the new ball!

Hayden's Confident Start

Mortaza bowled his first over well with some deliveries teasing Gilchrist. Gilli was little uncomfortable with his footworks as he missed few deliveries after attempting for big shots!

In the other end, Hayden started off very well. S.Hossain shared the new ball with Mortaza but he didnt get the line correct. Hossain was offering some width which was responded well by Hayden with boundaries. Hayden went aggressive over Hossain that included three consecutive boundaries in the same over!

But same Hayden was not feeling that comfortable against Mortaza! Its becos of the good line and movement from Mortaza. He teased and decieved Hayden few times. At the same time, the fielders in the inner circle are less alert leading to some poor misfields giving the bonus runs for Aussies.

Mortaza Strikes For Bangladesh

gillidepartsjz6.jpg

Mortaza who was looking for the wicket in each delivery he bowled, finally striked with the crucial wicket of Gilchrist. He utilised the struggle of Gilchrist cleverly!

Mortaza delivered a short pitched delivery to Gilchrist. As usual, Gilchrist went for a aggressive shot trying to put away.. this time it was an aggressive pull attempted, that wasn't timed properly. This resulted in the top edge and the ball went very high in the air without much distance! Rafique who was standing underneath, did not find tough to take an easy catch that landed safely in his hands.

Mortaza and the entire Bangladesh team were delighted and celebrated this wicket with huge joy as Gilchrist have the capacity to make a quick start and now he is gone. Gilchrist was disappointed and made a quick walk towards the dressing room. Aussie skipper, Ricky Ponting replaced Gilchrist at the crease.

Well, just 5 overs ended, Hayden's great start has placed Australia on the right track. Mortaza brought the timely break through but still a long way to go for both the teams. Also, its likely for Razzak to continue the bowling in Hossain's end as Hossain had a terrible two overs for 18 runs!

Australia :- 29/1(5)
M.Hayden : 23*(16)
R.Ponting : 0*(0)

A.Gilchrist : 5(14) Dismissed by Mortaza.
Required Run Rate : 4.49 Runs/Over

early strike for bangladesh!!!:)
but they will have to get hayden soon before he gets to confident.
good stuff mate

Very nice start by Bangladesh but Hayden looks to be in one of those moods. This partnership needs to be broken quickly.

Aussies are going nicely .Not typical Gilly who played slowly . Still Aussies are the favourites.

Let Aftab replace Shadat. His wingy medium pacers could be useful. He is the only Bangladeshi bowler to have an ODI Five-fer Aftab. Got it in New Zealand in similar conditions.

when i played on cricket 07 Aftab got 7 wickets against me in the world cup.
Come on Bangladesh

Thats a blow for Australia as Gilly is one of their leading batsman.

Hayden however is getting things moving and if he can stay in and maintain the runrate Australia should win

Ricky ponting needs to stay in with hayden to put together a great patnership

Keep it up mate great presentation!

I'm not feeling so confindent now. :(

Hayden's in superb touch like he was the last time I checked. Does he still have a bat average of over 40?
