MUNAF FINISHES OFF...

windiesover8vz.jpg

With just one wicket remaining, Dravid operated with Munaf and Kumble. Munaf strikes again for the third time... It was a late swing that was moving into the batsmen...Infact it swung a lot to legside...And the batsman trying to defend it got hit in the pads by the ball and the ball managed to hit the stumps after striking the pads... So the batsman was unlucky that time...He was having a stare at the stumps for a long time... With this wicket, the entire innings of Windies coming to an end. The entire Indian dressing room was happy...and even the fans were jumping and playing music!!! But this was missing in Windies dressing room as they have a lot of work to do to save this match. Its going to be interesting to see Lara's response now in the third innings of this test!!!!

India lead by 124 runs.

SCORECARD OF WINDIES INNINGS

BATTING CARD :

battingcard9gq.jpg

Only Lara and Bravo have threatened the bowling so for..Remaining all the batsmen did not make much impact. Also one thing that is worrying India is the EXTRAs. They bowled 50 extras with 26 Byes... Thts really expensive and Dhoni was not great behind the stumps!!! Dhoni has to improve on it!!!

BOWLING CARD :

bolwingcard1fw.jpg

Munaf, Agarkar and Kumble did well and also Sachin with the important wicket of Bravo. Pathan have to improve on his line and length!!!

So India is ready to bat now.. Just few minutes to go for lunch!!! So they have to be careful of not loosing a wicket before Lunch!!!

India : 0/0 ( 0 overs )
Lead by 124 Runs.

Either Dhoni improves behind the stumps, or you call Kaarthik back into the playing XI...;)

INDIA HAVING A BETTER START!!!

Indian batsmen arrived at the crease with some determination!!! Windies bowlers were quite discontented as they trail by 124 runs. Everything set ready and Umpire asked the bolwer to start. Jaffer was at the striker's end and Lawson is the bowler.

LUNCH BREAK

day3lunch4pn.jpg

Well its a bad start for Lawson... Jaffer got a single and Sehwag smashed him to the four very first ball.... Lawson got irritated and Lara immediately went to him and had a chat...In next ball, sehwag attempted a cover drive that was misfielded by Sarwan but no runs were taken. Lawson gave away five runs in his first over... Then Edwards bowled the second over... Seven runs were taken in that over with three two's by Sehwag...Infact the running between the wickets was good!!!

And the Lunch time came... Indians had a better start than the first innings and also they are little confident becos of the healthy lead!!!!

INDIA : 12/0 (At Lunch,Day 3)

Sehwag --- 10(10)
Jaffer --- 1(2)
Lead by 136 Runs.

More Detailed Analysis is coming shortly on " FOURTH UMPIRE ".

Excellent presentation and content Surendar. All your hard work is certainly paying off here.
Yep, it's also good to see India off to a good start for a change. ;)
If they'd been playing Australia though - that would be a different story.
Keep the good work up. :)

:D a valid point Duff, You would expect India to be rattled somewhere in the mid to low 50's early in the next session.

Great story Surendar, hopefully the Windies will put up a bit more of a fight with the ball this innings.

A good indian start! wonderful!

P.S. this is the first time I am reading a story thread seriously, so make sure India wins!!!

(jokin:D)

loving the street talk mate :cheers
great start to the indians and lets see if they can capatalise!
keep it up! :D

( With Ravi Shastri and Ian Bishop )

R.S : Welcum to the Fourth Umpire for the Day3 at Lunch. It has been another outstanding session today by Indians. They bowled Windies out quickly and developed a healthy lead now. What to do you think about this morning session Ian?

I.B : Well Ravi, this has been a poor batting display by Windies. They shd have reached atleast 350 to be in the competition but they are really in danger zone unless some outstanding bowling comes from them.

R.S : You are correct, Windies trailing by 136 is something not a gud news for them with India having 10 wickets in their hands. So they have to perform somthing extraordinary to win this test match from here... Lawson,Edwards, Gayle and even Hinds ;) have the abilities to trick the batsmen. I guess Windies need to wind off India below 200 if they want to be in safe position.

I.B : You have missed other bolwer also..Bravo can do tricks with slow balls... But the real drawback is the healthy lead tht applies more pressure on the bowlers...This can even lead the bowlers to make mistakes!!! So I feel India is in driver's seat now.

R.S : This big lead will definitely put them in commanding position...All they have to do is batting patiently may be till Day4 tea...If they do this, Windies will be in trouble definietly!!!

Coming back to this morning session... How do u rate this session as Overall?

I.B : As i told its a poor performance by Windies. If Ramdin and Bravo have stayed, Windies wud have reached a good score.... But the real brakes applied to Windies when Bravo was dismissed. So this morning session is a bowler's session. Indian Bowlers did a fantastic job.

R.S : Thats true... Every one bowled well today.Kumble was the first one to pick a wicket of Ramdin this morning. It put an end to a vital partnership.

I.B : Wow..Thats a typical Kumble delivery.. I ve seen those many of these in those days...This shows how evergreen he is  The batsman was clueless of the turn there.... He went for an ordinary defence but the ball went between the bat and pads. Thats a great delivery.

I.B : yep Ian, thats an unfortunate end to Ramdin. Then Dravid's suprise was bringing Sachin. The plan also worked. Sachin bowled well. Sachin though he picked one wicket in three overs, he was the one who applied brakes on Windies by sending Bravo back to pavilion. That was a tricky delivery and almost unbelievable. It was like Warne delivery thogh he might have turned it more. Sachin got little turn but managed to strike the legstumps!!!!

I.B : The wicket of Bravo shattered the confidence of Windies. Also its difficult to understand Dravid with his bowling changes. He was experimenting to an extreme end. But its a great fortune tht the suprise bowling changes worked. We have already observed with Lara being dissapointed with his suprise bowling changes. Also the bowlers like Sreesanth and Pathan did not get much opportunity. Infact Sreesanth did not bowl at all today.

R.S : You are right Ian.. Its a big question why he did like that but the fact is everything worked in favour of Indians today. Infact Pathan bowled well today but he was given very less opportunity today. He was given only three overs.

This is how Pathan bowled today,

DISAPPOINTED PATHAN

pathand27fp.jpg

I.B : Also, he was taken off from the attack after he got a wicket. This is really a suprise....If he had taken another wicket his confidence level wud have raised.

R.S : yep, he was struggling yesterday with his line and length. he did not get his natural swing and also the pace was not that great. Becos of this Dravid might have hesitated as its important to finish the tailenders quickly ...

I.B : He was getting the swing today and from the stats today i.e he gave just three runs and got a wicket.. I feel he shd have continued few more overs... Smith's wicket was an beautiful typical Pathan delivery.

R.S : Also after Windies Innings, Pathan seems to be disappointed a bit.. There was also a long chat between Pathan and the coach,

PATHAN SEEKING ADVICE FROM THE COACH

pathanadvice3zn.jpg

I.B : I think he might have discussed his position in the next test ;)

R.S : After Smith went there was back to back wickets for India. Edwards went to Kumbe. Its another Kumble's typical delivery.Infact it looked almost like a carbon copy of the delivery bowled to Ramdin.
I.B : These two wickets of Kumble have raised his confidence to a great extent. Infact Kumble was given the ball right from this morning. But the strike bowler getting only three overs.

R.S : Well, there must be some preplanned strategy. I think you are more worried on Pathan than him ;)

I.B :  I myself being a fast bowler know the worries of other fast bowler

R.S : then the last wicket was taken by Munaf... I observed a late swing in that but it doesnt seem to hit the stumps...

I.B : yep, it was going away from the legstumps but the batsman pads helped the ball to hit the stumps.

R.S : So yet again fortune favouring Indians..But that all counts in the game... Infact Munaf bowled his last over well... He was trying something different to pick the last wicket.

Here is the stats of the last over of Munaf,

munaflastovr7ic.jpg

I.B : There you can see the blue line i.e wicket taken delivery... It was completely going away from the leg stumps. As you said, Luck was there for India on few occassions!!!

R.S : So Windies just managed to get only 279 on there scorecard. Well definetely there shd have been some disappointments in the dressing room... But they shd forget these bad memories and refresh themselves to perform outstanding next session.

I.B: India did the same this morming becos yesterday Indians had terrible times with Bravo.. But the good thing to see from India is that they restarted their memories freshly and were able to perform well. So Lara and his team shd do that to stay on this competition.

R.S : Also, this session was the worst session of all the three sessions they played.

here is the graph depicting that,

WINDIES OVERALL BATTING...

windiesgraph0um.jpg

I.B :  Thats terrible... Lara must see this to analyse the flaw in their batting... They just got around 60 runs but the thing is that they lost 5 wickets.... This is completly a poor performance that too in home ground!!!

R.S : we can understand ur anger Ian..Just cool down ;) This happens in Cricket.

This is how Windies scored runs from yesterday since session2 ( i.e,after Lunch )

Session 2 (After Lunch, Day 2 ) : 109/2
Session 3 (After Tea, Day 2) : 104/3
Session 1 ( Morning session of Day 3) : 66/5

I.B : Tailenders should support more on test matches... Almost every team doing this!!! So lot of improvement is needed in both upper and lower order.

R.S : Hopefully Windies will rectify this flaw. Ok Ian, Its time to get back to the match.

Thats all we have from the Fourth Umpire for now. well, Interesting session coming on the way... How Lara is going to perform with his bowlers? Will the bowlers outsmart the batsmen? Everything will be known in upcoming sessions.

We will get back to you with some more detailed analysis at the end of Day's play. So watch the match LIVE and enjoy it. Till then Gud Bye from us.

SOME CONFIDENT START BY WINDIES AFTER LUNCH!!!!

Well, India seemed to be confident when going for lunch!!! The lunch break got over and players came to the field and were ready to go... The batsmen especially Sehwag seemed to be hungry for runs ;) But Lawson started with a quality pace attack against Jaffer.

JAFFER STRUGGLING TO DANCE AT THE CREASE...

jafferstrgles6eo.jpg

Jaffer faced the first ball after lunch. The very first delivery after lunch by Lawson suprised Jaffer. It was a very quick ball and short pitched. Jaffer went on to backfoot but was fortunate to survive still at the crease... He was almost gone there...just a few centimeter gap between ball and bat. This really raised Windies confident to some extent. The next delivery was an ordinaty one and Jaffer was contented to play a defence. The third delivery again suprised Jaffer. He pitched in the middle and almost it threatened to hit the helmet of Jaffer. Jaffer was jumping and dancing at the crease and found difficult even to touch the ball. The over ended with just a single taken from Jaffer.

So this has been a good positive start from Windies... They are looking for the early breaks to get back into this match!!!
