Fleming's Trust On Astle! ( Astle given the ball for last over, Is this a Gamble? )
After a long discussion from Fleming,Astle,Oram & Mills, NZ skipper finally came to an conclusion to give Astle the last over.
It suprised everyone in the stadium including the NZ coach! There were lot of bowling options -- Mills, Oram & Styris. Leaving all these options & going for Astle is a big gamble. NZ have already a lost a recent match with Mcmillan bowling the last over against England in one of the series Astle have bowled well so far in this innings but trusting him in this situation over the specialist bowlers is a huge risk.
It seemed that Fleming want to utilise the dew factor with Astle. As the ball is just skidding from the hands of the bowlers, Astle was expected to be effective than the fast bowlers in Fleming's opinion!
Suprised Field Setting!
Adding to bowling selection suprise, the fielding which Fleming set for Astle has suprised even more. From the field setting, it was expected that line to be straight wanting the batsmen to make mistakes like going over the top! Any edges wud easily find its way to the boundary as there are no fielders there! At the same time, fielders are very alert near the boundary!
Fleming's main intension is to prevent the boundary as run a ball won't do any harm for Kiwis. But for Bangladesh, they have to look for handy edges for boundaries! Excitement & Tension are widespread at the moment!

Astle's Hattrick Took NZ To Finals! ( Astle Suprised everyone with the Hattrick )
With Astle given the ball, many of NZ supporters were not happy. They felt Fleming might have gone with Oram or Mills. But Astle gave a shock to all the spectators by taking a hattrick in first three balls finishing off Bangla's innings in style & taking his team to the finals!
49.1 -- Mortaza Dismissed By Astle!
Astle bowled an normal medium pace delivery which Mortaza attempted to go over the top by a backfoot shot. But Mortaza was completely decieved and missed the ball which striked the stumps. Mortaza was clean bowled by Astle.
Mortaza can't believe that he missed the medium pace delivery. He was disappointed very much and gave a worried look at his partner Mashud! Fleming was very much excited as his suprise change have started off well & this ( Wickets ) was what Kiwis needed! The entire NZ team was delighted and continued their celebrations.
Mortaza walked back to the pavilion & Razzak replaced Mortaza at the crease joining Mashud. There was some discussion between Mashud & Razzak... Razzak's main job is to pick single now and give strike to his well settled partner! Fleming maintained the same field setup and the pressure is slightly higher on Bangla than Kiwis but still the tension remained the same among fans & dressing rooms!
49.2 -- Razzak,The Second Victim of Astle!
Astle started his runnerup to deliver the second ball... The ball skidded fast from Astle's hands which turned as a bad line delivery offering width for the batsman... Razzak, tried to go over the huge gap in offside but was very unlucky that he got an thick edge & ball went towards the keeper. McCullum took an comfortable catch behind the stumps and Astle striked once again for Kiwis!
This was very unfortunate way of getting out.. Width was provided and Razzak did not get the timing right! Razzak made his way towards the dressing room with his head down. Kiwis took the complete control of the game with that wicket as there was just one wicket remaining & still 10 Runs needed from last 4 balls. Fleming & his team were brought together once again for the celebration.
Mashud have no idea of what to do with only one wicket left. Hossain was the new batsman at the crease. All Bangla needed is just a single to bring Mashud on strike! But Astle finished off in style!
49.3 -- HatTrick for Astle & Victory For Kiwis!
Fleming still maintained the same field inspite of more pressure on Bangla! Everyone was expecting to attack Hossain with slips etc.. NZ coach was very restless in the dressing room while Bangla dressing room was still filled with tension and worries!
Astle bowled the third delivery of this over and Hossian tried to work it on legside for a single but got an inside edge which made the ball to strike the stumps. This finishes the entire innings of Bangladesh. Astle got hattrick for the first time in his career! That too, hattrick in this stage of a big tournament is somewat special for Astle.
After the dismissal, Fleming ran towards Astle and lifted him and all the players started jumping on each other and celebrated this victory! Coach from kiwis dressing room came to the field quickly and joined the celebration of Kiwis. All NZ fans were very much excited and found jumping on their seats. Meanwhile, there was some disappointments among Bangla fans but they were bit contented to see their team having progressed to this stage of a big tournament. Also, Bangla coach and players came to the field and cheered each other for applying so much efforts in this tournament!
After the celebrations, NZ & Bangla players exchanged the warm handshakes and also with umpires. It still remain a great shock not becos of this victory but becos of Astle's hattrick in the crucial stage of the big match! With this Victory, Kiwis make a progress to the finals of Champions Trophy!
