:Hello and a warm welcome to everyone for the first One day match between India and SouthAfrica in Johannesburg. This is the same pitch where the T20 match was played few days back. We have with us, the legendary left arm bowler, Wasim Akram to have further discussion. Welcome Wasim to this show.. And what's your opinion on today's match?

: Well Ravi, there is no doubt that both India and SA are going to fight hard for the victory. Especially after the previous match, there is going to be a cracking contest is what I believe.

: But with big three's back probably into the side, do you think that it's going to make big difference?

: Yes, definitely India is going to have some advantage with big 3's guiding the team from top. Remember at the same time, it is going to be tough to decide the first XI after a promising display from young blood in Twenty20!

: We had to wait for that and see regarding who are all going to make the final XI. And it's time now for us to hear the weather conditions from Johannesburg.

Weather Report.

Well, before looking at the weather conditions, the crowd attendance here for this match is already looking great. Huge noises from the spectators have started coming so soon even before the start of this match. This shows the extent to which the spectators are enjoying cricket here. Support from both SouthAfrica and India are looking great today.

And regarding the weather, it is fine for the moment. Bright and sunny afternoon.. an ideal condition to start the game. But as we move on, there are minor possibilities of some showers to interrupt the game. Though it's still a minor possibility. Lets hope that game goes uninterrupted. There is a good amount of wind too which might favor the bowlers at start. So, apart from those minor chance of showers, the play should carry on fine without any problems. Its back to Ravi!

: That's interesting.. minor chances of Shower to spoil the game?

: Well, I also wanted to see the full action here today. Bad weather conditions are always hated by cricket lovers since they just spoil the sport. Hope rain comes only after the match gets over.

Pitch Report.

Thanks Ravi! Well, the pitch which is next to me here.. hasn't changed much from the previous game. It has become only harder compared to the previous game. This means, its not a good sign for the bowlers. Things might happen the same for bowlers like how it happened in previous Twenty20 game.

In other words, batsman are expected to enjoy more than bowlers. This is hard looking wicket and ball should be coming on to the bat nicely. Only thing which bowlers should be looking for is, the wind. There is a good amount of wind coming across here in NW direction. So, the initial few hours is what bowlers look to utilize. At night, I rarely doubt whether ball will listen to bowler's mind. And with some chances of rain in the evening, it's safe to trouble the opponents earlier than waiting for the next session. i.e, Captain winning the toss might look to bowl first to be on the safe side to chase whatever the big target is set up. That's all from here and it's back to Ravi.

M.H : Thanks Ravi.. We are here with both the captains... Rahul Dravid,the Indian skipper and G.Smith,the SouthAfrican skipper for the toss. Smith is about to spin the coin.. Dravid, your call?

: Heads!

M.H : And it is... Tails! Well Smith, you have won the toss and what you are gonna do?

: Well, We are going to bowl first!


M.H : Any specific reasons for your decision of bowling first?

: The pitch is looking good for batting as we saw its behavior in the previous game. With initial conditions might favor the new ball and bowling factor under lights, I feel its better to bowl first and look to chase whatever huge, the total is going to be.


M.H : Well, Good luck in this game.

: Thank you.


M.H : Now coming back to you, Dravid.. what do you feel.. You think you should have bowled first?

: Well, looking at the conditions and the way our previous game was played, there are plenty of things which batsmen need to utilize. Hopefully, we remain careful for first few hours and put a healthy score to defend that under lights.


M.H : Good Luck Dravid, Hopefully we see a great entertainment in first session.

: Thank You.


M.H : So, thats the news... South Africa have won the toss and without any hesitation, they have opt to bowl first. Have to wait and see how this decision works out for Smith. Its back to you, Ravi!

Thank you, Holding! So, thats the toss for us.. India has been put into bat by Smith. Wasim, how well you think that it's a right decision by Smith?

: Well Ravi, even if I had been a captain under these conditions, I would have loved to bowl first. Especially in the pitch report, Geoffrey did mention a word about the wind factor..and it might be helpful for bowlers. Also after knowing the target, you can always rely on D/L method to reach a particular small target in case if rain comes into picture later this evening.

: We have to wait and see how it turns out in the end.

Great update. i especially like the weather report feature. Suggestion when interviewing players the interviewer mostly uses the players first name it jsut seems kind of wierd when talking to someone and getting called by your surname
