Tremendous segment. India can sure win this against South Africa.

Sorry about the lack of posts by me, I'm sure I wil lstay active in this brilliant story from now on.

Great update. i especially like the weather report feature. Suggestion when interviewing players the interviewer mostly uses the players first name it jsut seems kind of wierd when talking to someone and getting called by your surname

Thanks for the suggestion :) I mentioned Dravid and Smith as I have heard Shastri saying in that way or telling it as full name. Thats why. Anyways I will take your suggestion and implement it next time :)

Welcome back, Jazzy! ;) Nice to hear that. :)

A fantastic update there Suren. Amazing presentation. Keep it up!

Love the weather report stuff there Suren. Should be a good game, but I think SA will win it with the ODI class they have...

Brilliant update, the weather forecast is great! Looking forward to the ODI series, should be exciting cricket! I think Smith was wrong to Bowl first, I think it is easier on a hard pitch, which is good for batting to have a bat first and get 300+. Therefore, I think India have the advantage at the moment.

Great graphics!

Smith should of made first use of this very flat track. South Africa may come to regret this.

Hmmm...just noticed that Dravid is the captain.
Well, anyways,i have voted for India to win after the solid T20 performance the other night.

As for your presentation, man, you can do a good job for Star Cricket....:)

Awesome story mate, when will there be an update as the suspense is killing me?

India In SouthAfrica
India Vs SouthAfrica

First ODI Match(D/N),Johannesburg.
First Innings.

Slow Start From India!
( Ganguly back to pavilion after a good supportive role )

With South Africa winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, all the players of SA came out of the dressing room followed by the umpires. The attendance in today's game has been outstanding. Stadium is tightly packed with huge noises escaping from the spectators due to excitements. Soon followed the Indian opening batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. These two have been the best opening pair for India and carried huge expectations and hopes while walking out of the dressing room. Pollock and Ntini shared the new ball.

Very Tight First Over by Legendary Pollock!

Tendulkar was on the striker's end. Smith had two slips for Sachin and it looked like attacking the master. Pollock delivered an excellent first delivery to Tendulkar and the batsman managed to strike the ball inbetween the gaps of slip fielders for a single. With Tendulkar getting off the mark, it brought Ganguly onto the strike. Smith attacked the left hander too. Pollock never gave any chance for the left hander to free himself and hit over. The line and length was accurate and made it tough for the left hander. Ganguly was deceived a couple of times and went into defensive mood for the remaining deliveries of the first over. This ended the tight first over of Pollock.

Nothing Started Off Right for Indians!

In the other end, Ntini also started off in a threatening way. Both the bowlers gave all sorts of trouble with the new ball. They(bowlers) never gave a second to the batsman to relax and go over the bowler. They made it tougher and tougher.

The left handed batsman, Ganguly was hit over almost in every area : in gloves, in rib cage & in helmet. In particular, Ntini proved to be too aggressive than Pollock. Pollock delivered with accuracy in one end and Ntini delivered with aggressiveness in other end. All together, it prevented any free flow of runs.

Some Painful Deliveries.

Some of the deliveries were too painful for Indian spectators to watch. Especially, the mastro Sachin was also uncomfortable with the extra bounce and accuracy. Tendulkar missed few good deliveries and was decieved by some bouncers.

One of those was a bouncer which made Tendulkar to fall down completely. This turned everyone's(Indian fans) frustration on the hosts. Some players in the dressing room stood up after seeing their master falling to the ground without any resistance. It was too painful to watch in reply. Bowler apologized though. It was painful for few moments but Master returned to normal after a certain time. The worst thing which India doesn't want is to see someone especially like Tendulkar getting injured at wrong time.

At last,Some Entertainment from Little Champ !

sachinattackun8.jpg

With the things completely not looking good for India, it was Tendulkar who took the initiative risk by trying to go over the bowlers. In fact, it worked out well.

Tendulkar started moving his feet and played some excellent shots. He was very watchful against some of the good deliveries and played it cleverly. One of those was the nice use of the wrist to push the ball softly in backside for a boundary. Bouncers didn't stop from the bowlers though. Still, Sachin managed to go behind the line of the ball for some bouncers and managed it to strike in the gaps well. His typical cover drives was delightful to watch irrespective of whether that ended as just a single or a boundary!

This attacking approach after some struggle helped in acceleration of the Indian scorecard finally. It also brought back worried spectators back to their joyous mood. :)

Slow and Steady Sourav!

suuportivesouravbe5.jpg

However, Sourav Ganguly maintained his patience and waited for the bad deliveries to come onto him for the smashings. With master's attack on one side, it affected the bowlers to small extent which inturn, resulted in some bad deliveries like giving width and overpitched ones finally.. & It was well utilized by Ganguly.

He also managed to pull the couple of short pitched deliveries too. Finally, runs started to flow steadily from both the ends and these two looked very settled. The partnership reached 50. Smith, though he had lots of hopes to get some quick wickets earlier, wasn't looking that much happy. Langeveldt and Nel tried their best too. Second pair of bowlers were introduced soon after the tenth over. Nel was looking impressive but Langeveldt wasn't convincing enough. Still, he managed to get a vital breakthrough.

The Prince Of Kolkata Departs!

gangulywicketpt7.jpg

Short Pitched deliveries continue to remain as a weakness of the Prince of Kolkata. After a series of straight balls from Langeveldt, a sudden & surprising short pitched one did the trick.

Ganguly tried to pull it over leg side for the maximum. It went up straight in the air due to the mistiming and it ended up as a brilliant catch near the boundary ropes by Pollock. At last, Smith was seen delighted and he started running towards Pollock and celebrations soon continued from all the SA players. Ganguly wasn't happy though. He had played a similar shot earlier.. but this time, he didn't get the timing right. Ganguly walked back to pavilion with his face down. Sehwag replaced Ganguly as the new batsman. Viru looked very calm in his first few balls he faced.

Well, at the end of twenty overs, India's scoring rate has been very slow due to the wonderful initial spells with new ball. Departure of Ganguly remain as main worries in Indian dressing room. However, with Tendulkar looking settled, all which India needs is, a big partnership to get them to a good competitive total. Smith would be looking for capturing some more wickets though to get India into deep trouble. Have to wait and see how this contest turns out to be though! Stay Tuned! :)

India : 73/1( 20 Overs, Run Rate : 3.65 )
Sachin Tendulkar : 40*(57)
V. Sehwag : 7*(14)

Sourav Ganguly : 22(49) Dismissed byLangeveldt.

A Very Slow Start from India!

Slow but assured start for India. If they can keep wickets in hand until the 40th over they could be on for 100+ in those last 10. Good bowling by SA to target the Indian's weakness in playing the short ball at the body!

Yeah Treva's right, it hasn't been the greatest of starts by India, by any means, especially on such a hard wicket and a good one for the batsmen. However, they need to keep wickets in hand and push towards 280, 290 at the end of the innings. Excellent bowling by South Africa.

Great presentation!
