First it was slow run rate and now they are throwing away their wickets. Sachin was great with the bat today but threw his wicket away and nothing seems to be going the right way for Yuvi. Someone wake up Dravid to tell him that he is playing an ODI match :p.

Awesome work as always mate :clap

R&R combination not good news for runrate. Lets hope India get 220.

Inida in some kind of trouble now, i hope from here Protaes will not give any chance to bounce back again ;) great story and presentation as usual :clap

:happy Thanks a trillion for the wonderful comments and fantastic views :happy

Updates Coming soon. :)

Sorry for the late reply! India in big trouble here, those 4 wickets are big wickets, all of them can attack well and for them to go after 30 overs and going under 4 an over is not good at all. Still, India can still post a decent total. The 2 batsmen need to get through to 40 overs, and then India can launch an attack.

Great work Suren!

India are in a spot of bother here. The 2 current batsmen need to stick around for a while and as there are 5 overs left, hit out.

Fantastic update mate! ;)

India In SouthAfrica
India Vs SouthAfrica

First ODI Match(D/N),Johannesburg.
End of First Innings.

Poor Display from India!
( Hosts just need 175 Runs to Win )

With Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma left at the crease, they had a huge pressure on their shoulders to take India to a competitive score. At the same time, South African bowlers also denied the easy run scoring opportunities and frustrated both the batsmen to maximum extent. It was not only the batsmen, but also the spectators who got frustrated the most.

Dravid's Poor Response Leading to a RunOut~ Action Replay

sharmarunoutog1.gif

It was when Sharma has faced just 2 balls for his 2 runs, confusions arised between the batsmen. Sharma played the ball in offside and gave a quick call to his partner, Dravid for a quick single. Dravid started off to run but he changed his mind and said " NO " to Sharma's call.

But it was too late for Sharma to react for Dravid's response. Sharma did tried to get back to his popping crease. He made a desperate dive towards the danger end. The throw was quick enough for Boucher to get hold of the ball and remove the bails off. Run Out shout came from all the sides from the fielders and they were almost in celebrating mood.

Decision went to third umpire. The replay showed that batsman did fail to cross the crease line. Though he had his bat on the line when Boucher removed the bails, it's out! Red light glowed and this added more frustrations to the Indian dressing room. Sharma walked off nodding his head.. and Dhoni replaced Sharma at the crease. It has happened like the same few times already in Dravid's career. Many cursed Dravid for such a poor dual minded response to Sharma's call.

As per the rule, A batsman must have the bat or part of his person behind the popping crease to prevent being "run out" or "stumped."

Dhoni Kept Under Pressure.

sledgingou8.jpg

As soon as the new batsman arrived, Smith changed the field set to bit attacking one. Also, Kallis was at his best in bowling. He bowled some exceptional deliveries to both the batsmen.

One of the deliveries of Kallis almost had Dhoni to pavilion. Ball just missed the stumps (narrowly) and went towards the keeper. Kallis thought that he had another wicket there.. but wasn't able to believe only. He walked towards Dhoni and exchanged a sarcastic smile with Dhoni. While walking back to his runner up, Kallis also said few words to the batsman. Smith was seen immediately near Kallis giving continuous encouragement.

Dhoni Also Dismissed Cheaply!

dhonioutmb9.jpg

There were some bowling shuffle made by SouthAfrican skipper. After Langeveldt's 10 over spell, Nel and Ntini were mixed with Kallis. Infact, Ntini's bowling change worked for SouthAfrica.

In one of the deliveries, Ntini bowled a quick straight one. Dhoni didn't do anything wrong rather than trying to defend that straight one. But he missed it completely and ball straight away knocked off the stumps. It was a clean bowled! Celebrations continued further for SouthAfrica. Smith was seen happiest among all since, his team was able to put the opponents under massive pressure.

It was 130/6 when Dhoni got departed. Indian keeper returned to pavilion with lots of disappointments. Irfan Pathan walked in as a new batsman.

Dravid Trying to Stay Firmly Rooted!

dravidpatienceqv0.jpg

With plenty of overs remaining, Dravid's main worries seem to be playing the full 50 overs quota. They had to play full 50 overs to get some good score to defend. Hence, Dravid tried to stay completely rooted to the crease and took his own time.

There was no hurry seen in Dravid's batting approach. He defended many good balls and tried only to rotate strikes by taking one's and two's. ( There were rare 2's though! )This further added frustrations to the Indian dressing room as the scorecard was not at all ticking puting India further backwards. Dravid seemed to be bothered only about staying at the crease for long time. :mad

He already started receiving curses for that run out. And now, the curses still continued for not being able to lead from front as a skipper. Acceleration of scorecard is what something very important when comes to ODIs. India seem to struggle in this department in today's match.

Atlast, Some Entertainment!

pathanattackto0.jpg

Irfan Pathan who was expected to give his atmost support to Indian skipper, took some time to settle down. But soon, he started to attack the bowlers. Nel, Kallis, Ntini and Pollock were mixed very wisely by Smith.

Pathan played some magnificent shots in off side. The best thing was, he did found the gaps exceptionally well inspite of having the fielders there. This frustrated Kallis more compared to other bowlers. One of the boundaries was splendidly saved by a fielder there in offside. It was a huge leap and the fielder managed to get hold of the ball and hence saved a certain boundary.

In one of the deliveries, Pathan came down the track and smashed a huge six. The ball reached one of the spectator's hand safely. It was a big six and was fantastic to watch. Bowler and Smith got frustrated but did not affect SA much though.

This pair did look to build some good partnership.. but it didn't last long either. :(

End to Solid Patience of Indian Skipper!

dravidoutpn1.jpg

This time, it was Nel who made a crucial break-through. He got rid of Indian skipper with the best delivery of the match so far.

Nel delivered a straight yorker.. which gave only very few minutes for Dravid to react. He tried to defend the straight incoming yorker. But it had some late swing(reverse swing) and deceived the batsman completely. Ball after failing to make contact with the bat, straight away knocked off the stumps. This resulted in yet another clean bowled!

Dravid was taken by surprise. After staying so patiently at the crease, all which India doesn't want is, this kind of dismissal... that too of Indian skipper's which remained as the only hope for Indians. Celebrations for SA continued. The score was around 160+ and India's tail got exposed so soon. Sreesanth arrived as the new batsman.

Wicket after Wickets ~ All OUT!

alloutdg0.jpg

Pathan's Wicket : Pathan threw away his wicket by trying to hit a big shot. He timed it right but didn't get the enough distance to clear the boundary ropes. Ball safely landed on the fielder's hands and it ended up as an easy catch. This increased the wicket column to 8. With only two wickets remaining, and the score not even near 200, it seemed almost over for the Indians in this match.

Sreesanth's Wicket : It was yet another yorker from Nel. This magical yorker seemed too much for the Indian tail batsman. This resulted in clean bowled and Nel was very much excited in getting the regular wickets for his team. Smith was very pleased with his bowlers.

Zaheer's Wicket : Another delivery was aimed at the block hole by Nel. Zaheer tried to play that one in straight but the ball after having contact with the bat, went straight away in the air towards the bowler itself. Nel reacted quickly and took a comfortable catch and thereby, putting an end to Indian innings.

India was all out for 174 which was indeed a pathetic batting display.

Indian Scorecard.

indiascorecardxh4.jpg

Well with horrible batting display from Indians, it's all upto the bowlers now. Initially, the pitch was expected to be a batting paradise. It did happen when Tendulkar was smashing everywhere but it was quality pace attack which made India to panic in the end. More pressure lies now on the Indian bowlers to defend such a low total. But for Smith, he would just be wanting to make sure that his batsmen doesn't do anything silly to avoid a miraculous loss. We have to wait and see how this contest turns up into.. Till then, Stay Tuned. :)

SA Need 175 Runs to Win the First ODI.

Great work by SA, but very ordinary from the Indian batsmen. The way South Africa bat I reckon they'll reach this target with ease, and maybe with a few fireworks along the way.

Great bowling display by the Proteas...poor batting by the Indians...hope Indian bowl well ...Chakde India...

Great presentation

Well that was a poor performance with the bat by India. They should have put up some fight but that was not the case.

Great update and great presentation Suren bhai! :clap

Rubbish batting display there by India. Apart from Sachin everyone else failed India and the fans. It will take a miracle bowling performance for India to win. but that's what you do Suren. Miracles eh? ;)

Great work mate. I don't really know how to describe your story. It is just out of this world. :hpraise

Great update!

India batted really bad there. Sachin was the only shining star for India. India have to bowl really well if they are to have a chance to win this one!
