AUSTRALIAN INNINGS BEGINS!!!

With the target of 236, Australian openers Adam Gilchrist and P.Jacques arrived at the crease... Also the new ball was given to Irfan Pathan and the filed was set ready... The umpire asked Pathan to start and there was a huge roar for the first delivery....

Pathan bowled the first ball and it was smashed by Gilchrist for a four... This was the started expected from Gilchrist but Pathan came back well in the remaining five deliveries and did not allow any more boundaries in that over!!!

Poor Start From Munaf Patel

Munaf Patel shared the new ball with Pathan and he had a horrible first over!!! Jacques smashed most of the deliveries and played with the great confidence!!!

First Ball :- Jacques played an sweep shot  and it went for the four with ease... Both the openers starting with a boundary!!!

Second Ball :- It was a short pitched delivery and Jacques had enough time to go for backfoot and made a soft contact that fetched him two runs!!!

Third Ball :- Jacques just offered a stroke and no runs scored.

Fourth Ball :- He came on to play a front foot shot with more power and it resulted in the boundary!!!

Fifth Ball :- Once again Jacques was satisfied with the defensive stroke and no runs scored.

Sixth Ball :- Jacques went on backfoot in straight and that fetched two runs!!!

HawkEye!

Jacques scored a quick twelve off Munaf's first over and Australia was looking good but Pathan brought an important break through with the excellent effort of Agarkar!!!

Excellent Catch, Gilchrist Departs!

Pathan bowled an poor delivery and Gilchrist went wild over it and played an aggresive shot with great power.... It looked for the moment that it going for a big six ... But Ajit Agarkar who was near the boundary ropes took an maginificent catch and Gilchrist cant believe that the catch was taken!!! Then umpire referred to the third umpire and in replay, it clearly showed that feet was just before the ropes thereby not making contact with the ropes resulting in Gilchrist to return to pavilion!!!

Gilchrist was disappointed more and the whole Aussie dressingroom was worried... Indian team was happy that they got an important wicket and the full credit goes to the brilliant effort by Agarkar near the ropes!!!

Ponting's Great Start With a Boundary

missheadnu3.jpg

Ricky Ponting arrived at the crease and started off straight away with an aggresive straight drive off pathan that missed Jacques's head narrowly and managed to go the boundary... Ponting gave a smile to his partner who was sitting on the pitch that time :p All the three batsmen started off with a boundary!!!

Poor Umpiring

nofouret6.jpg

Ponting once again played in straight but this time with less power and Sourav Ganguly was chasing the ball and he made a great dive in attempting to stop the ball and infact he did it nicely and made a throw towards the bowler end after an brilliant fielding effort!!!

The thing is, replay showed that Ganguly's feet was well touching the ropes but the umpire did not even refer to the third umpire to check whether its a boundar or not!!! Ponting got two runs by running!!! In cricket, every single run is important but umpire was not even bothered of these two runs loss :p

Aus : 23/1 ( 3 Overs )

Jacques : 12* (6)
Ponting : 6* (5)

nice start for AUS ....and nice catch by Agarkar .....good news for India is that Pathan is in the wickets column .....Greg will be happy about that :D

Spectacular story Suren. You are simply an absolute champ with the amount of work you put into it for all of us to see.

And an excellent catch to depart Gilchrist - awesome. :)

One again. Fantastic Work Suren! It is evident you put a lot of work into your story. Keep up the great work!

well aussies started strongly but a stupid shot which was not needed at that time got gilly out...still india have a chance of winning this but aussies are going absolutley beserk right now...

nice catch from ajarker and jaques is goin well, i think aus should win this.

If Austalia don't lose wickets at regular intervals then they will win.

Nice presentation Surrendar :)

That was a great wicket there by Pathan especially the catch.

This should be a great clash now that Gilly is gone!

Australia has a good run rate.... if ponting stays on the pitch for 10 more overs then it will be trouble for India... anyway Gillchrist's wicket was a big blow!.

once again nice presentation surrender
