Good batting by the West Indies. Hopefully they will get some quick runs in the last 10 overs.

WINDIES IN COMMANDING POSITION
Target : 281 for Aussies

Well in the last Ten overs, Australian bowlers struggled more and Windies finished the entire 50 overs in style! This batsmen domination started off with Smith & Sarwan!

Smith & Sarwan On Fire!

Already Sarwan got a great start and now Smith also joined him and continued the same momentum along with Sarwan! Both the batsmen were going over the bowlers in a wild manner! Bracken and Hogg were operating at that time and both the bowlers struggled to pitch the ball in line as whatever the line it may be, batsmen blindly went over it! It was suprise to see Aussie bowlers struggling! Infact both the batsmen were very comfortable in stepping out and hitting against the pace of Bracken! Ponting changed the field immediately to very defensive type!

Finally breakthrough took place starting with departure of Smith!

Smith & Hinds --- Returned to Pavilion in successive overs!

McGrath and Lee were asked to finish the last 6 overs remaining and McGrath striked in his first over of this spell!

Smith's Wicket :- McGrath bowled a slow delivery around middle and off stump and Smith judged the slow delivery well and attempted to get a huge one but unfortunately the ball found the fielder near the boundary and Aussies were relieved to get a break through! But they werent much happy as already Windies were on the path to set a good total!

Hinds's Wicket :- Hinds started off well with a boundary and kept strike to face Lee!

Lee Striked for Aussies this time in getting hinds out and the departure was almost a replica of Smith's one though Lee bowled an quick one! Hinds trying to go over the top but unfortunately again the ball found the fielder near the boundary and Aussies were delighted to get quick wickets!

Sarwan's fifty!

Sarwan reached his half century in just 38 balls and proudly raised his bat to the crowd! Everyone from Windies dressing room appreciated this talented knock from Sarwan and importantly it came in right time and started accelerating the scorecard too! Sarwan really changed the game's direction and seemed to take Windies to a challenging total!

Lee Striked Again

Banks once again attempting to go over the top found the top edge and the ball went high in the air without getting much distance and infact Hogg took an simple catch in the inner circle itself! But these types of dismissals, i.e trying to go over the top & getting caught, is quite common in ODIs in last ten overs as batsmen majorly hunt for runs in that stage!

Most Unforgettable Over of The Innings

Sarwan Vs McGrath ( 50th Over )

srwnlastoverdf3.jpg

Sarwan had one of the best overs in his cricket career of smashing McGrath in the final over!

First Ball :- Dot ball though Sarwan tried to go over the top in legside!

Second Ball :- McGrath delivered a bouncer and Sarwan got struck in ribcage! McGrath exchanged few words with Sarwan!

The remaining four balls shd have made McGrath to think why he annoyed Sarwan :p

Third Ball :- Sarwan played an excellent cover drive that went like a rocket to the boundary!

Fourth Ball :- Sarwan played an beautiful leg Galnce off the slow ball of yorker length and it went for the bopundary too!

Consecutive boundaries made McGrath to nodd his head in a unhappy way!

Fifth Ball :- Sarwan was onto his backfoot this time and played an excellent shot that just managed to go pass the fielder to a boundary!

Sixth Ball :- Sarwan tried to went over the top and it almost managed to go for a six though it ended in one bounce over the rope!

Four consecutive boundaries made the entire Aussie team silent and they walked off the field with worried face!

McGrath's Last over :- 0,0,4,4,4,4

WI : 280/7 ( 50 Overs )

Sarwan : 71* ( 44 ) 14 Fours 0 Sixes

Sarwan batted excellenty, I think Aussies will find it very difficult to get into a postion to take control of this match, West Indies looking very strong and not being intimitated by the World Champs.

Sarwan showing us all that McGrath is just a hapless trundler really. :p

Exceptionally well presented again Suren, the flare effects on the boundary shots look really nice.

great batting by sarwan and great presenatation by suren (again)
