OPENING BOWLERS STRIKED FOR AUSTRALIA!

Well, McGrath started his runner to deliver the ball after umpire asked him to proceed and there was a huge roar for the first delivery and it seemed that Windies fans were more enthusiastic than Aussies as they playing music and started enjoying the game even before it has started :)

McGrath started off very well with the first delivery! The pitch seemed to look like getting more bounce with that first delivery! Infact McGrath striked with the wicket in his first over itself!

Ramdin --- McGrath's First Victim!

ramdinwktvw5.jpg

Though there was good pace in the pitch, McGrath attempted a slow ball and Ramdin spotted the slow ball well and as a result he attempted to go at it and was trying to put away it to the big one but was unfortunately he missed the proper timing and also ball missed the bat and it went to the stumps straight away!

McGrathwas more delighted to strike early and Ramdin went to the pavilion with the worried face! This is the start that Aussies were looking for! The entire Aussie team was delighted and celebrated the wicket! Brian Lara, Windies skipper arrived at the crease with some pressure!

Brett Lee Also Striked In First Over!

Brett Lee shared the new ball with McGrath and he delivered a quick first ball and it went to the keepr and Gayle was uncomfortable with the pace the pitch is offering the bowlers! But Lee seems to like this as this is generally his ideal conditions!

Lee fired a quick bouncer against Gayle... Gayle in order to defend it was jumping in air to play a defensive stroke but the ball got the edge of the bat and after striking the edge of the bat, ball moved in direction towards the stumps and it took the offstump off! This was a huge blow for WestIndies as Gayle is the one of the great openers who has the capcity to accelerate the scorecard during initial stages!

Lee and Australian team got excited of the start Aussies got and were celebrating this with the huge joy and happiness! Gayle was unhappy when he made his way towards the pavilion! Chanderpaul arrived at the crease replacing Gayle!

G.McGrath Vs B.Lara

mcstreeb8.jpg

Like McGrath & Tendulkar, McGrath & Lara wud always be an interesting contest! McGrath was trying to annoy Lara and bowled some of the tempting deliveries that was taking Lara to heights of frustration!

McGrath in one such attempt, bowled a bouncer ( pitched very well and perfect line also ) and Lara attempted to put away the bouncer to the boundary but he missed it and went to the keeper!

As soon ball went to the keeper, McGrath went near the batsman( Lara ) and exchanged few words with Lara.. This is a typical McGrath style towards the batsman which he does more often! ;)

But in First Ten Overs, it was ver clear that bowlers ( McGrath & Lee ) had a complete control and it was really a testing time for batsmen!

WI : 28/2 ( 10 Overs )

Lara : 10* (20)
Chanderpaul : 9* (31)

ramdin always went for a duck in the whole series....and Gayle is not in a good form in my story al well:D

Good start for the Aussies. I don't expect this West Indian innings to last long. And, keep up the great presentation Suren! You're doing a fantastic job!

hey are you bowling lol and sorry for asking so many times what patch is it this time?

yeah I am bowling for Australian team ( only for Aus Vs WI matches else India for rest :D )

The Patch i am using for this ODI series is Tutsi's Latest version patch! :happy

West Indies are in trouble... now Chanderpaul and Lara should build up a good partnership to set up a challenging total for the ausies...

Brilliant start for Aussies :(

Oh well come on Windies lets make some quick runs and pull yourselves back into it.
Lara's wicket is a crucial one. He needs a biggun and anything less than 50 in my opinion gives Australia the match.

Great stuff Suren as always,Keep it going :clap :)

Lara: Has a bat, can flatten anyone.

McGrath: Old duffer with no bat and can't flatten anyone :p

Good update Suren, Aussies in control despite my comments...

:happy Thanx everyone for the wonderful replies! :happy

WINDIES REGAIN THEIR BALANCE!

Well after the initial trouble by the bowlers, There wasnt that much trouble from the other pair of bowlers , Watson & Bracken! But the pace was very good in the wicket and at the same time, as told in the pitch report, the ball was coming onto the bat nicely! So Lara and Chanderpaul as they have spent already more time at the crease, found comfortable against Watson and Bracken!

Bracken Tried To Create Little Problem
With The Bouncers

bouncersmisspe8.jpg

Both the batsmen were tested with some quick bouncers by the bowlers! There was already exchange of words took place between McGrath and Lara because of the bouncers!

Now Bracken tried few bouncers and decieved the batsmen, no words were exchanged though! Both the batsmen tried to put away the bouncer in the similar style to the boundary but was decieved and as a result the ball just went pass to the keeper! Bracken just gave a sarcastic smile and returned to continue his bowling! So Ponting adjusted a field to keep the fielder ready for a catch incase of any Top edges but unluckily for Australia nothing like that ( Top edges ) happened!

Chanderpaul's Excellent Innings!

chnderinningspx6.jpg

Chanderpaul in initial ten overs had spent enough time to settle down! But still Windies fans were afraid whether Chanderpaul wud continue like his previous innings against Australia! But after getting settled, Chanderpaul started freeing his arms! He attempted some beautiful shots that fetched him boundaries!

Chanderpaul tried to go wild over Watson and Bracken after getting used to Glen & Lee's pace! He also played in all directions and was moving his feet very well... Chanderpaul at the same time was even trying to rotate strikes also thats more important in ODIs! Chanderpaul played some nice cover drives, leg glance and used both backfoot and front foot well! He was looking as a strong support to his skipper,Lara!

Brian Lara, A Superb Captain's Innings!

larainnyn5.jpg

Brian Lara, in the other end was playing a superb innings! He was looking comfortable right from the start of his arrival! Lara's domination against Aussies continued in this match also! ( he already got a century in prev match vs Aussies )

Lara was also moving his feet very well.. & played some excellent cover drives ,late cuts, leg glances and also his footwork was proper! So the bowlers(Watson,Bracken,Symonds) were slightly struggling to find an ideal line for this batsman!

Symonds was introduced in the middle and he was the most expensive bowler so far in this innings! Ponting's strange decision of Symonds instead of Hogg did not work! Both the batsmen were comfortable at the crease atm & Bowlers apart from McGrath & Lee were not that effective!

Aussies wanted to break this pair as soon as possible becos they are well aware that Lara in final 10/15 overs is definitely going to be dangerous!

Windies wanted Lara to stay at the crease till the end to get an huge total on their scorecard!

WI : 108/2 (25 Overs )

Lara : 48* (71)
Chanderpaul : 46* (70)

Well I think the Windies chances of winning now are definetly increased.
