WINDIES DEFEATED AUSSIES BY BIG MARGIN!

With early three wickets falling down for Australia, it was expected that Hussey and Martyn should play the important role for Aussies if they have to stay on this match! At the same time Lara doesnt want this pair to settle down and he was contented with medium pacers to bring Bravo and Smith and Banks was not given chance early this time!

Hussey Seemed to be Promising!

Hussey was looking good at the crease moving his feet well! But bolwers even Bravo and Smith never seemed to struggle against the batsmen! Infact they were attacking more and more every ball and were not affected by Hussey's few boundaries!

Martyn, started off with his own style with steady patience! Martyn's intention was very clear that he is not going over the bowling unless its a bad delivery! Martyn so seemed to give a steady solid support to his partner! Hussey looked confident also but his confidence didnt last long!

Hussey Returned To Pavilion, soon accompanied by Symonds & Watson!

Hussey's Wicket :- Bravo was the bowler bowling to Hussey! He bowled an ordinary medium pace delivery and Hussey who was in the mood of hitting fours ( after hitting couple of boundaries in Smith's over) , attempted to pull it away to the boundary ropes but unfortunately it got an top edge and the ball went in air towards Collymore and it resulted in a good catch by Colly sending Hussey to pavilion! Hussey left the field with disappointment not only for him but for the entire Aussie team and Aussie fans!


Symonds's Wicket ( Run Out Fumble becos of Martyn) :- Symonds arrived at the crease joining Martyn! Huge responsibility fell on Martyn's shoulders and he infacted started moving his feet well! Banks was introduced in Smith's end atlast and Symonds was trying to settle in! Martyn played a beautiful cover drive of Bravo but was going towards the fielder!

They seemed to take only a single but there was a misfielding near the ropes though the ball didnt touch the ropes! Seeing this Martyn wanted a second run and Symonds was not even aware of this call earlier and after repeated calls from Martyn, they started running! This slight hesitation produced a slight delay in running and this slight delay inturn produced a huge wicket of getting Symonds run out! The throw was quick enough to bowler's end and moreover it went to Bravo's hands and he dislodged the bails before Symonds cud touch the line! This was a huge blow for Australia! Symonds was not at all happy while returning to pavilion!



Watson's Wicket :- Banks was bowling in other end giving company to Bravo! Banks striked this time for Windies! He bowled a beautiful off break that struck Watson's pad while attempting to sweep and this resulted in easy decision without any hesitation for a LBW! Nothing went right for Aussies from the start of their batting!

Martyn Running Out of Partners!

Martyn was well settled now and he started to attempt for boundaries and looked in aggressive form but the pity thing is there was no solid support for Martyn in other end! Hogg was giving him the support to some extent but he was not able to score freely and was contented to stay at crease and Martyn also kept strike in fresh overs and tried to keep Hogg off strike as much as possible! But everything seemed to be over soon for Aussies!

Tail Enders Dismissed!

Hogg though got three runs, stayed for more time with Martyn but he was finally dismissed by edging away to Ramdin off Bravo and also it seems Bravo continuing the momentum that Collymore left!

Lara just brought Collymore for one over and with his beautiful yorker dismissed Lee and this brings third wicket to COllymore! He was successful throughout the tournament! Aussies hopes completely shattered inspite of Martyn's good going in other end!

Then Bracken was also dismissed in similar way like Hogg, edging to wicket keepr off Bravo and Nine wickets have gone in the 36th over itself! Some of Aussie fans started moving from their places out of the stadium!

Score at this situation : 140/9 (36 Overs)

Martyn's Superb Batting Display!

Martyn realised that the situation was completely against Aussies with the required runs of about 140 with only one wicket left! But still Martyn doesnt want to give it up that easily and asked McGrath just to leave or defend the ball whatever the delivery may be! Martyn at the same time took single mostly in fifth or last delivery and kept strikes!

Martyn just broke from the patience like a storm and went wild over all the bowlers! Bravo and smith who were looking good was smashed everywhere! Banks who seemed to be economical was also smashed! Bowlers for the first time for Windies struggled to pitch the ball in line and Martyn was continuing the fireworks that produced little entertainment to the spectators!

The required rate was huge for Aussies at the end of 44 overs! The suprise thing is that Aussies survived till 44 overs considering their situation they were at 36th over!

Martyn was on 99 with McGrath facing Gayle! Gayle was tried by Lara and that change worked infact! Gayle bowled his first over and he striked with the wicket of McGrath! McGrath who maintained the patience to the maximum level, just tried to play an ordinary shot but it went as a catch and this wicket produced Windies Victory!

Great win for the West Indies, they really showed the Aussies how to play in that match. Martyn's innings was the Aussie's highlight and he was also unlucky not to get his ton. When you have McGrath at the other end though, you can't expect to get back there.

R.S : Welcome to the presentation ceremony of the fourth match of the DLF cup between Australia and West Indies in which Winides team played exceptionally well defeating the world champions by a huge margin of 90 runs! We had a good cricket overall with fireworks from both the teams in last ten overs


R.S : Well we now start with the few words from the captain who had tough game today! Ponting can u come to the stage please to have few words....


R.S : Well Ricky, its tough luck today... What's ur opinion on today's game?

Well, its a tough game today! We initially did well when by getting early wickets and applying brakes on Lara & Chanderpaul but the last ten overs really pushed us down from the match with a challenging total and moreover we didnt bat well! So the game went out of our control from the 40th over of Windies innings!

R.S : It seems that the openers are big trouble for ur team as they are yet to make a good impact in this series?

The openers are little uncomfortable but they are trying to concentrate hard to stay at crease and some time... & infact thats what Gilli & Jacq tried to do today but it was unfortunate to loose them so early! But hoping them to fire at the bowlers soon

R.S : Also, the team's middle order have literally comitted suicides... Openers made a mess, middle order made a mess except Martyn.. Batting was like a unusual Australian style?

Windies bowled well in the right spots! These types genrally happens when a team wants to chase the huge score and also loosing early wickets... More pressure was there on our boys in the middle order! Windies utilised this pressure very well infact Also Martyn did extremely well though he is very infortunate for not having any support in other end!

Thanx Ravi, Well it was a total team game! In batting myself and chanderpaul decided to spend time more on the crease and acclerate steadily and Sarwan & Smith played an magnificent quick fire especially Sarwan's last over batting...I realy enjoyed the 50th over And in bowling, Collymore once again initiated the team and through out the match, entire team did well!

R.S : You said u enjoyed the 50th over! What did u feel that time? Tempted to join Sarwan there ?

:laugh well, i totally enjoyed seeing Sarwan's innings... the way he started with confidence and carried it till the end! Four consecutive boundaries ..that too in last over.. that too against the one of the good bowlers in cricket... It was entertaining to watch!

R.S : You are into the finals now! Which opposition do u think to join u?

Well, it doesnt matter which team actually as both Aussies and Indians are competitive sides without any doubts! Its upto our team to maintain the same good form and hope we do well there also!

Martyn with magnificent 99* ...Collymore once again dominating.... but today's MOTM is Sarwan for his magnificent 70+ in just 40+ deliveries which came at the important time and mounted pressure on Aussies!

Thanx Ravi... Well i really enjoyed bating today! It was different from the wicket we had in previous games! Also ball was carrying a good pace and i enjoyed it overall as the ball with good pace was coming on to bat easily!

R.S : Lara was saying already that he was enjoying the 50th over! Well, ur opinions on that 50th over ?

That was one of the best moments in my cricket career so far! Well, i wanted to get runs for the team by some means... So decided to go over the ball whatever the delivery may be and that worked well today!
