Indian team wins the 4th Npower test match and the Npower test series​

England had just 3 wickets in hand and they required 180 runs to win. It was obviously not impossible but a tough task. Indian team and England team along with the 2 on field umpires came to field to start the match after lunch.

Swann and Prior both came with the tactic of being attacking and fancy their chances. Swann smashed few boundaries but wasn’t able to do anything special and went back to the pavilion for 13. Ishant Sharma was the bowler, Ishant bowled a good length delivery, Swann was ready to play a big shot but the ball kept low and Swann completely missed the ball and was bowled.

Next batsman who came to bat after Swann was James Anderson. Anderson managed to play 2 deliveries and got out LBW plumb on the 3rd delivery he played. Now, 160 runs were required for England to win and they had just 1 wicket in hand. Last batsman, Onions came to the crease. Prior knew that there is no point in defending. So, he decided to go for some big shots. But didn’t manage to play a big innings and departed for 41. Ishant bowled a short delivery on off stump but the ball again kept low, Prior thought to go for a big stroke but didn’t time the ball too well and smashed the ball back to his stumps.

With Prior’s wicket England team was all out for 351 and India won the match and the Npower test series by 151 runs.

Welcome to the post match presentation of the 4th Npower test match between England and India. I must say that we had 4 really good test matches in this series. Not only the batsman’s had a good time with the bat even the bowlers had a good time with the ball.

I would like to call Andrew Strauss to have few words…

Andrew, your team fought hard but in the end the Indian team was too good for your side. Wasn’t it?

They certainly played well and according to their potential. Chasing 502 is never easy but we still managed to make 350.

Cook, is he a concern for the team management? He didn’t play a big innings in the series and a team depends very much on their openers. If openers get the team off to a good start then the opposition is certainly under pressure but when the openers are not able to take team off to a good start the opposition is on top.

Cook wasn’t at his best in this test series. He is a bit of a concern for the team management but we hope that he will soon find his form back.

Natwest Triangular Series​

ECB had a meeting earlier today and decided that the Npower ODI series is going to include Bangladesh. So, now the Npower ODI series is going to be Npower Triangular Series. Bangladesh was going to tour England after India?s series. Bangladesh were going to tour England for 3 test matches and 5 ODI?s but ECB realized that England?s schedule in 2010 is quite hectic. So, just to ease down the things a bit the Npower ODI series is going to be Npower Triangular Series. Will Bangladesh be able to do anything special in this series? The Bangladeshi cricket fans would be eager to see their team perform well and they will be hoping for a good performance from their team in the Npower Triangular Series. Bangladeshi team is surely capable of doing something special. It should be interesting to see how they perform in the triangular series.

BCCI announced the 16 man squad of India?s team for the only t20 and the ODI series today. The squad for the only t20 match is:-

India?s squad for the Natwest Triangular ODI series:

The fans of Sachin Tendulkar were delighted when the t20 squad was announced as Sachin was part of the t20 squad. Sachin mentioned before the 2007 T20 world cup that he wants to give young players a chance to play t20 cricket and doesn?t want to play t20 cricket. But surprisingly he is in the 16 man squad for the only t20 match against England.

When it comes to the ODI squad the squad does look strong. Tendulkar was not in the very best form in the test series but will surely hope to do better in odi series. Sehwag on other hand, was in fantastic form in the test series and will try and continue playing well. Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvraj, Raina and Yousuf will strengthen the middle order. Senior bowler Zaheer will lead the pace attack and Harbhajan will lead the spin attack.

After an exciting test series it?s now time for some t20 action. The 1st t20 match is going to take place in Headingly. All the tickets are sold. The ground has already started to fill up. The atmosphere is amazing and the players have started practicing in the stadium. Let?s have a look at the weather conditions for the match

Weather Conditons​

The sky will remain clear throughout the match. The temperate is cool and will be around 14C throughout the match. Surely, we are going to get a full t20 match between India and England.

It?s an afternoon start so it is expected that the ground will be fully packed as the match progresses. Both the teams will get good support from the crowd. We had good crowd in the test matches so it is expected that we will get good crowd in this t20 match as well. Now let?s have a look at the pitch report by Ian Botham and toss by Naseer Hussain.

Well, the pitch is completely dry. The overhead conditions are clear so the bowlers should not expect the pitch to support them. Whichever team will bowl first the bowlers of that team should get some swing in the starting overs of the match but not throughout the match.

We are surely going to have a high scoring game. Any score around 180 at this pitch should be good. This pitch will remain good for the batsman?s throughout the match so whichever team will chase down should not have any problem.
