India v England 1st T20 Match Played At : Headingly
The much anticipated t20 match was all set to start. Players and the 2 on field umpires made their way to the middle. The spectators were very eager to see the match start. Dhoni gave the 1st over of the match to Zaheer Khan. Wright and Prior was the opening batsman’s for England. With everything set to start. The umpire, Aleem Dar said let’s play!
Zaheer’s 1st over was a good one. Just 5 runs came of that over. Wright defended 3 balls and then smashed the 4th ball of the over for a cracking boundary. On the next ball Wright took a single and the last ball was safely defended by Prior.
Next over though of Ishant was not as economical as the 1st over by Zaheer. Very 1st ball of the over was smashed on off side for 4. It went like a tracer bullet to the boundary. Ishant was under pressure with his very 1st ball of the match going for a boundary. Ishant came back nicely on the next ball with bowling a bouncer. On the next ball of the over Wright took a single and rotated the strike. Prior then smashed the 4th ball of the over for a 4. On the 5th ball he took a single. Wright on the 6th ball of the over took a single.
Zaheer’s 1st ball of his 2nd over of the match was played by Wright for a single. 2nd ball of the over was again played for a single by Prior. 3rd ball of the over was played for a classic straight drive for 4 by Wright. After smashing the boundary, Wright and Zaheer exchanged few words. These words between them maybe just charged up Zaheer a bit and the 4th ball of the over produced a wicket for India. Wright was trying to go for a big shot on straight but the ball went high in the air, Raina was the fielder at the boundary and took a dive and took an exceptional catch. Wright was not able to believe that he is out he went back to the pavilion very disappointed. 5th and 6th ball of the over were smashed for 4 by Prior. Zaheer’s 2nd over proved to be expensive.
After Wright’s wicket Prior was the man who changed his game and started to be attacking. Ishant’s 1st over was expensive but he came back nicely in his next over. Bopara defended 4 balls and smashed the 5th ball of the over for 4. 6th ball of the over was played for 2 runs by Bopara and 6 runs came of Ishant’s 2nd over.
After Zaheer’s expensive 2nd over, Dhoni decided to replace him with Praveen Kumar. Praveen Kumar’s 1st over was a very economical one. 1st ball of the over was played by Prior for a single. Bopara defended 3 balls and took single on the 5th ball of the over. 6th ball of the over was defended by Prior. 5 over gone and England were 48/3.
Harbhajan was brought a little early to the bowling attack. 1st ball of the over was played by Prior through the off side for a magnificent boundary. On the next ball Prior took a single. 3rd ball of the over produced a wicket for India. Harbhajan bowled a good length delivery but the ball got some uneven bounce and Bopaar was surprised. Bopara tried to go for a big shot but due to the uneven bounce he mistimed the ball and the ball went straight up in the air and the fielder at gully, Sachin Tendulkar took the catch. That too a diving catch. This shows the commitment he still has for the game after playing the game for 20 years. Bopara went back to the pavilion after making 7 runs off 10 balls.
Pietersen was the next batsman. Prior and Pietersen took England innings forward. Pietersen tactics were to be attacking. Praveen Kumar’s second over was very economical as well. Just 5 runs came of that over. Pietersen smashed 1 boundary in the over and took single on the last ball of the over.
Harbhajan was bowling economically. His 2nd over produced 6 runs and his 3rd over produced 7 runs. Praveen Kumar was replaced by Yousuf Pathan and the move proved to be costly for India. Yousuf Pathan gave away 10 runs in his very 1st over of the match. Prior defended first 2 balls of the over but the next 2 balls of the over were smashed on leg side for 2 fours. Prior took single on the 5th ball and Pietersen took single on the 6th ball.
ENG : 78/2 after 10 overs M.Prior 36*(29)
K.Pietersen 15*(11) Last Wicket : R.Bopara 7(10)
A great update, England are in the driver's seat.
78/2 is a good score after 10 over, they can easily push for something above 170 that would be a good score to defend.

IND : 78/2 V.Sehwag 40*(29)
Y.Singh 0*(2) Last Wicket : G.Gambhir 11(11) INDIA NEEDS 87 RUNS TO WIN AT 8.70 RPO
The run chase of 8 an over is reachable. I think the game is level at the moment, the run chase will be interesting, but India have 8 wickets in hand.
Sehwag has been sensational, 40 off 29, is Sehwag stays out in the middle for the next 5-7 overs, India should reach the total.
