Bangladesh v England - 11 overs to 25 overs update

Strauss, Trott and Pietersen back to the pavilion

PIC1-58.jpg

It was expected that the first 10 overs would prove to be supportive for bowlers but Bangladeshi bowlers found bowling after 10 overs easier. After 10 overs Bangladeshi bowlers were bowling in the right areas and the England batsman?s were struggling. Strauss, who was playing really well till the 10th over lost his wicket in the 12th over. Shuvo bowled a straight delivery; Strauss was trying to hit it straight for a single but in the end managed to hit the ball straight to Shuvo. Strauss was caught and bowled by Shuvo for 29 off 45 balls.

After Strauss?s wicket England lost 2 more quick wickets of Pietersen and Trott. Pietersen was playing the ball on off side but played it straight to cover point fielder, Kayes. Trott followed Pietersen to pavilion in the very next over. Trott was trying to sweep the ball but the silly mid on fielder, Islam took a great catch to dismissal Trott. Strauss,Pietersen and Trott wicket was taken by Shuvo. England was in trouble with 78/4. Now the 2 batsman at the crease were Collingwood and Morgan.

A partnership needed between Collingwood and Morgan

PIC2-36.jpg

Collingwood and Morgan both knew that now England need a good partnership from these 2 They both were not taking any risk and were basically rotating the strike. Morgan at times was being attacking but he was not getting carried away. When Morgan was hitting a boundary he was taking a single on the very next ball to make sure that the strike keeps rotating. The scoreboard was ticking so the 2 batsman?s were now able to play their normal innings. Shuvo bowled 5 overs before he was replaced by the captain Shakib Al Hasan. On other end, Razzak was replaced by Islam.

Morgan went after the 2 bowlers. Morgan was not allowing them to bowl the way they want. The good balls were played by Morgan for singles and the bad balls were easily put away for boundaries. Runs were coming on regular basis now and this was putting pressure of Shakib and Islam. Collingwood was playing safely and making sure that he doesn?t play a loose shot and give away his wicket. 25 overs were bowled. So far the Bangladeshi bowlers have put the England batsman?s under pressure. England needs a good partnership here to reach to a score of 250. Bangladeshi bowlers though will try their best to make sure that England batsmen don?t reach to a total of 250.

ENG : 127/4 after 25 overs
Paul Collingwood 17*(33)
Eoin Morgan 29*(27)

Last Wicket : Jonathan Trott : 25(44)
Shafiul Islam 6-0-33-0
Shakib AL Hasan 4-0-28-0

England need that comeback partnership. Morgan and Collingwood seem to be providing this. It was a dismall start from the English, Strauss, Pietersen and Trott all lost their wickets early. Strauss started well, but lost his wicket. Needed a captain's innings.

Wonderful updates mate, it's stories like yours that keep me going with mine. Keep up the good work

Bangladesh v England - 26 overs to 40 overs update

Bangladesh desperate for a breakthrough

PIC1-59.jpg

Collingwood and Morgan were looking good at the crease now. After 25 overs, spinners were not getting much purchase from the pitch and the batsman?s were enjoying batting. Shakib Al Hasan who is the main spin bowler of the Bangladesh team was having an economy of 6.00 RPO and when your main bowler is proving to be expensive the team is obviously under pressure. This was maybe a tactic from England team to attack Bangladesh main bowler. Shakib needed to do consistent bowling changes because he was desperate for a wicket.

But none of his bowlers were able to get any of the 2 batsman?s out! Collingwood was not playing big shots; he was rotating the strike and giving Morgan the job of going for big shots. This tactic was working really well! There was a point in innings when the runs were hard to come, from 30 overs to 35 overs Collingwood and Morgan were struggling a bit. But Morgan in the 35th over smashed Shakib for 14 runs which got Morgan to his well made fifty and took a bit of pressure from his back.

In the next over, 36th over which was bowled by Shuvo, Collingwood played 2 glorious boundaries. One on straight and one on leg side, both for 4 runs! In the 40th over Collingwood reached to his well made fifty. Another good innings from Collingwood under pressure! Can we call Collingwood God in Disguise? :p The next ball Collingwood faced after reaching to his fifty he played it on leg side for 4. 40 overs were bowled and the Bangladesh team was looking frustrated. They were not able to get a breakthrough and the England team was looking good now to reach to a total of 250. Last 10 overs of the innings are surely going to be interesting.

131* runs partnership between Collingwood and Morgan

ENG : 209/4 after 40 overs
Paul Collingwood : 56*(82)
Eoin Morgan : 66*(73)

Last Wicket : Jonathan Trott : 25(44)
Suhrawadi Shuvo 9-1-41-3
Shakib AL Hasan 8-0-48-0

Bangladesh v England - 41 to 50 overs update

England's final score 276/7, Morgan 105 not out

PIC1-60.jpg

As 40 overs were bowled both the batsman?s, Collingwood and Morgan were looking to attack the bowlers. Collingwood preferred to rotate the strike and let Morgan play the attacking shots. Collingwood got out for 66. He was trying to play a big shot on leg side but found the fielder at the boundary. A good innings from Collingwood ended.

PIC2-37.jpg

Next batsman who came to bat was Michael Yardy. Morgan, on other hand, was playing his normal game of rotating the strike and putting bad balls away for boundaries. Yardy didn?t lasted too long. Yardy was trying to hit the ball over the mid on fielder but didn?t succeed in it and was out for 6. The next batsman who came to bat was Tim Bresnan.

45 overs were bowled and the batting powerplay was forced. Morgan got ready and started smashing Bangladesh bowlers all around the park. Bresnan too smashed a boundary but got lbw out for 5. Stuart Broad was the next batsman. 48 overs were bowled and Morgan was on 90. Broad was on strike in 49th over and Broad was not able to give Morgan a single till the 5th ball of the over. Morgan smashed both the remaining deliveries of the over for 4. First one through the leg side and the second one through the off side! Now, Morgan was on 98.

1st ball of the 50th over was played by Broad through the off side field for 4. 2nd ball was played by Broad for a single. Morgan got strike on 98. :D 3rd ball of the over was played through the off side field for 4 and Morgan reached his century. A great innings from Morgan! One of his best, if not the best! 4th ball was played on leg side for 2 runs. 5th ball was a full length ball on the block hole which Morgan defended safely. 6th ball was played on leg side for a single. So, England?s final score was 276/7. Morgan was not out on 105. At one stage it seemed that England will not even reach 200 but their final score is 276. Now, can Bangladesh chase this total? The pitch is still good for batting and Bangladesh team has the talent in their team. The match is set to be thrilling. :)

Bangladesh innings 1 to 10 overs update

Kayes and Ashraful take Bangladesh innings forward

PIC1-61.jpg

2 Bangladeshi batsman?s, England players and 2 on field umpires came to the field to start Bangladeshi innings. First over of the innings was bowled by James Anderson. 3 runs came off that over. Next over was bowled by Stuart Broad and he managed to pick up 2 early wickets of Bangladeshi team. Tamim Iqbal departed early in the innings for 1. Iqbal was trying to hit the ball through the off side field but got edge on the ball and the ball went to the keeper, Matt Prior. Prior accepted the catch and Iqbal went back to the pavilion.

PIC2-38.jpg

Junaid Siddique didn?t trouble the scorers as he followed Iqbal footsteps to pavilion on the very next ball. Siddique was trying to play the ball on leg side for a single but in the end managed to play the ball straight to the fielder at square leg. Bangladesh was in trouble with loosing 2 wickets for 3 runs. Mohammad Ashraful was the next batsman. The 2 batsman at the crease now were Imrul Kayes and Mohammad Ashraful.

PIC3-19.jpg

England bowlers were on top. Kayes and Ashraful were finding it difficult to rotate the strike. 7th over though by James Anderson proved to be expensive. 12 runs came off the over. Ashraful smashed 2 boundaries in the over and took 2 doubles. 4 runs came off the 8th over. Apart from the 1st ball which was hit by Kayes through the off side field for 4 the next five balls were dot balls.

Tim Bresnan replaced James Anderson and bowled the 9th over. 7 runs came off the over. First 2 balls of the over were dot balls, 3rd ball was played by Ashraful through the leg side field for a glorious boundary. On 4th ball Ashraful rotated the strike. 5th ball was a dot ball and the last ball of the over was played by Kayes for 2 runs. Paul Collingwood replaced Stuart Broad and bowled the 10th over. It was a very good over from Paul Collingwood. 1 run came off the over.

BAN : 43/2
Imrul Kayes : 20*(37)
Mohammad Ashraful : 14*(26)

Last Wicket : Junaid Siddique : 0(1)
Tim Bresnan 1-0-7-0
Paul Collingwood 1-0-1-0

:mad Ok, I know you have something against Bangladesh. I'm sure Ashraful will blast the opposition away here. Just wait and watch.

I have a feeling with those 2 earlier wickets to Stuart Broad, that the wickets will just keep falling here for the English. They have a brilliant pace attack, and the bowlers will certainly be on the attack knowing they took 2 wickets in the 2nd over of the match.

Wonderful update mate, loving the scoreboards, they are just so clean and realistic. Keep up the good work mate!
