Kayes and Ashraful - Both reach to their well made fifties
Kayes and Ashraful were playing more safely now. Kayes and Ashraful avoided taking risks and concentrated on rotating the strike. Especially Kayes, he was avoiding taking any risk! Tim Bresnan?s first 2 overs were expensive but then he came back nicely and bowled in the right areas. Collingwood from other end was keeping the things tight as well. Kayes was making sure that he doesn?t gave away his wicket on a loose ball, so he was hardly smashing boundaries but Ashraful was just playing his normal game.
When Ashraful was feeling that the required run rate is climbing he would play some big shots which will take the pressure off from Kayes. This was making sure that even Kayes was able to play his natural game. Bresnan bowled 6 overs before he was replaced by Stuart Broad. On other end, Paul Collingwood was replaced by Graeme Swann. Broad was bowling really well but he was not getting good support from the other end as Graeme Swann was proving to be expensive.
First 2 overs of Graeme Swann went for 22 runs but he came back well in his 3rd over. 23rd over of the innings was Graeme Swann?s 3rd over. 1 boundary was hit by Kayes in this over and that four took him to his well made fifty. A good innings from him under pressure! Now, he needs to go on and play a big innings.
24th over from Stuart Broad was a tight one as 4 runs came off the over. First ball of the over was played by Kayes for a single; next 3 balls were dot balls, 5th ball of the over was played by Ashraful for a single, 6th ball was played by Kayes through the off side field for 2 runs. Ashraful was now on 49. 25th over from Swann gave away 5 runs. Ashraful took 2 runs of the first ball of the over and reached to his fifty. A well made half century from Ashraful. Next ball was a stylish straight drive which was stopped by Collingwood from going for 4. Ashraful picked up 3 runs. Last 4 balls of the over were defended by Kayes and 25 overs were bowled.

Bangladesh innings - 26 to 40 overs update
Match evenly poised, Bangladesh require 66 runs in 10 overs to win with 6 wickets in hand
Broad struck for England in the 26th over with getting the wicket of Imrul Kayes. Kayes was going for a big shot but completely missed the ball and was clean bowled. Next batsman was Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan came to the field with the strategy of being positive and playing his normal innings. He started off his innings by rotating the strike and keeping the scoreboard ticking but as he reached to the double figures he started to be attacking.
Ashraful continued to play well. He saw that Shakib is playing well, so he avoided taking any risk and continued to rotate the strike to make sure that there are less dot balls and allowed Shakib to play the big shots. If there were any loose deliveries from the English bowlers, Ashraful was not at all stepping back in smashing those deliveries for boundaries. Strauss was having a worried look on his face. Broad completed 8 overs before he was taken off and Paul Collingwood was brought to the bowling attack.
Swann, on other end, was replaced by James Anderson. Anderson was proving to be expensive. Shakib was going after him because Collingwood, on other end, was bowling really well and was not allowing the Bangladeshi batsman’s to hit him for boundaries. So, just to maintain the run rate, Shakib made sure that Anderson is put under pressure. Anderson though came back nicely and took the wicket of Shakib. Shakib was going for a big shot over the off side field but the ball went high up in the air and the fielder at mid wicket, Paul Collingwood accepted the catch. Shakib went back to the pavilion after making 31 runs off 32 balls.
Rahim, was the next batsman. After Shakib’s wicket, Ashraful started to be attacking. Ashraful continued to put Anderson under pressure. Strauss saw that Anderson is proving to be expensive so he was taken off and Swann was brought back into the bowling attack. Swann was bowling in the right areas but at times he was bowling loose deliveries which were getting dispatched for boundaries by the 2 Bangladeshi batsman’s. Rahim was looking to be positive. He was rotating the strike on good balls and was putting the bad balls away for boundaries. He struggled a little against Collingwood but he did well to not loose his wicket.
BAN : 211/4 after 40 overs Mohammad Ashraful 94*(112)
Mushfique Rahim 13*(21) Last Wicket : Shakib Al Hasan 31(32) Paul Collingwood 9-0-43-0
Graeme Swann 8-1-46-0
Evenly poised game here. If Ashraful can stay out at the wicket i'd say that Bangladesh could get over the line here. Good Bowling from Collingwood, and Collingwood might just have a say in wether who wins the match or not.
Wow. Ashraful has suddenly rocketed to 94. As its being said, the match is evenly poised, but I still feel England has the upper-hand and will emerge victorious. Just hoping that User2010 doesn't bribe you for a BAN win.
