Bangladesh all out for 262

PIC1-64.jpg

Ashraful reached to his century in the 41st over. Ashraful reached to his century by smashing a boundary. A brilliant knock from Ashraful under pressure! In the 42nd over Rahim lost his wicket to Swann. Rahim was trying to go over the leg side field but the ball kept low and hit Rahim pads. England team shouted for an lbw appeal and the umpire raised his finger.

Naeem Islam was the next batsman. Islam didn?t lasted too long as he got out for 5 off 3 balls which included a boundary. Naeem Islam was caught and bowled by Tim Bresnan. The situation got even worst for Bangladesh when Shuvo got out. Now, the 2 batsman?s at the crease were Ashraful and Mortaza.

PIC2-40.jpg

47th over was bowled by Anderson. 3rd ball of the over was smashed by Ashraful through the off side field for 4 but on the very next ball he lost his wicket. Ashraful was trying to hit the ball over the mid on fielder but didn?t succeed and the mid on fielder, Bresnan, accepted the catch. Razzak didn?t lasted too long as he was out for a duck. Bangladeshi fans in the crowd went absolute silent.

2 overs were remaining and the Bangladeshi team needed 27 runs to win with 1 wicket in hand. 49th over from Broad proved to be expensive. Mashrafe Mortaza smashed 3 boundaries in the over. So, now the scenario was Bangladesh needed 15 runs off the last over. But Mashrafe Mortaza was on the non striker end and on the striker end it was Shafiul Islam. Bangladeshi fans were hoping that Islam gives strike to Mashrafe and does not get out but that didn?t happen and on the very first ball of the 50th over, Islam lost his wicket and England won the match by 14 runs.

User will be disappointed.

But well played Bangladesh, showed enough fight and gave a tough challenge to England but only to fell just short. Maybe some another day.

Bangladesh, at one time, had just given England the chill in the spine, but they came back very well to clinch the match. Kudos to Morgan!

I also seemed to notice that you writing seems a little 'breaking into pieces' at some parts, where it isn't really necessary.

For instance,

Ashraful reached to his century in the 41st over. Ashraful reached to his century by smashing a boundary.

this would've seemed better if it was something like this.

"Ashraful reached to his century in the 41st over, by smashing a magnificent boundary."

But yeah, it's all your wish mate, how do YOU want to do it. :)

Yeah, I agree with the point you made. I usually write in the way you pointed out "Ashraful reached to his century in the 41st over, by smashing a magnificent boundary" but sometimes I do make some changes to my writing. I'll keep it simple and interesting. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. :cheers

Post match presentation

Post match presentation with Nasser Hussain

NasserHussain.jpg
We have seen some terrific cricket being played by the two teams, Bangladesh and England. It?s time for the post match presentation now.

NasserHussain.jpg
Firstly, I would like to call Bangladeshi team captain, Shakib Al Hasan to come forward and have few words.

NasserHussain.jpg
Well, Shakib, bad luck! You guys played well today but In the end falling short of winning the match by 14 runs.

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
Yeah, we lost too many wickets in the ending overs of the match but we have lots of positives to take from this match and we will try and play well in our next match vs India.

NasserHussain.jpg
Do you think that your bowlers gave away too many runs in the last 10 ? 15 overs? England were 50/3 at a time but their final score was 276. Are you a little dissapointed with the way your bowlers bowled in the last 10-15 overs?

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
I can?t blaim other bowlers of my side because my performance was not impressive as well. A team always looks forward to it?s captain and in today?s match my performance was certainly not good.

NasserHussain.jpg
Well, Shakib, best of luck for your next match against India.

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
Thanks Nasser! :)

NasserHussain.jpg
Now, I would like to call England team captain, Andrew Strauss.

NasserHussain.jpg
Strauss, you?ll be a happy man! England were 50/3 at a time but they still managed to reach 276 and then they won the match. Although the winning margin was of 14 runs but a win is a win! Isn?t it?

AndrewStrauss-6.jpg
Yeah, exactly, Nasser! Partnership between Collingwood and Morgan really got us back in the match. Bangladesh needed 66 runs in the last 10 overs and they had 6 wickets in hand. I must say that as a captain I?m quite happy with the performance of the bowlers of my side.

NasserHussain.jpg
When England were 50/3 did you thought that England will reach to a total of 276?

AndrewStrauss-6.jpg
Actually I had no doubt that if Collingwood and Morgan get going then surely we can reach to a score of 250+. Morgan is new to the England side and he is still young but he has already played some brilliant knocks under pressure. Collingwood, well, I don?t need to say anything about him. He has played so many good innings under pressure.

NasserHussain.jpg
Yes, indeed. A good performance from England in today?s match. Good luck for your next match.

AndrewStrauss-6.jpg
Cheers Nasser!

NasserHussain.jpg
Now,it?s time for the man of the match award. There were some really good performances in this match and the man of the match award goes to Eoin Morgan.

NasserHussain.jpg
Morgan you?ll be very happy with your performance in today?s match arent? you?

EoinMorgan.jpg
Yeah, I am quite happy with my performance in today?s match and the happiness gets double when you play well and your team wins.

NasserHussain.jpg
What was the tactic between you and Collingwood while you both were at the crease?

EoinMorgan.jpg
At the start of our innings we avoided hitting boundaries and concentrated in rotating the strike which made sure that the scoreboard keeps ticking. As our innings progressed, we both started playing our normal game and then we concentrated on improving the run rate.

NasserHussain.jpg
Really well played Morgan in today?s match!

EoinMorgan.jpg
Thanks a lot, Nasser!

NasserHussain.jpg
That?s all from the post match presentation. :)

Well played by Morgan and deserved MOTM. Himself and Collingwood had a good partnership going, which ended up winning England the game.
Good write up mate, it was a good read. I am looking forward to the next ODI now

Just a suggestion but can we have less of the surnames and more first names in interviews. Nasser Hussain is surely going to address Strauss as 'Andrew' or even 'Straussy' rather than 'Strauss'. And Strauss will tend to call his teammates Paul and Eoin rather than Collingwood/Morgan etc. He might even use nicknames - although admittedly that would risk going 'over the head' of the global audience.

Ok, I'll avoid using surnames of the players in post match presentation updates. Cheers for the suggestion. :)

@Varun and Roo - Cheers guys! :cheers

You know how much I hate you now? :mad Ashraful played well, had he stayed there till the end we would have won. Next time, it will be against India I think. Bangladesh will win, mark my words.

Natwest Triangular Series, 2nd ODI
Bangladesh v India
LIVE from Lord's

Weather Forecast, pitch report, toss and line ups

It’s time for the 2nd Natwest triangular Series ODI! The match will be played at the home of cricket, Lords cricket ground. Bangladesh and India are the two sides who will be fighting it out in the middle to win the match. Bangladesh, who lost their last match against the home side, England, by 14 runs have given Indian team the warning of not taking them lightly.

Indian team, on other hand, are a strong unit and will obviously be looking to win this match. If Bangladesh team looses today then they will need to beat England in their next match. So, the Bangladesh team will try their best to win this match. Now, let's have a look at the weather forecast for the match.

Weather Forecast

WeatherForecast-4.jpg

It's quite cold out there in the middle. Right now, the temperate is 8, which is cool. The sky is clear and will remain clear throughout the day, which is a good sign because this means that we will have a full 50 overs match.

The stadium is not full at the moment but we hope that it will fill up as the match progresses because it's a great day for cricket! It's time for the pitch report now and after the pitch report it's time for the all important toss.

Pitch Report by Ian Botham

PitchReport-5.jpg

The pitch looks to be a great one for the batsman's. In the last match, there was some purchase for the fast bowlers in the first 10 overs and then the spinners too had a good time but this time around this won't be the case. The batsman's are going to have a great time today!

The pitch is not slow though, so if the bowlers bowl in the right areas we might see some wickets falling but all and all this is a fantastic pitch for the batsman's. The bowl will come nicely to the bat and the outfield is quick so if the batsman's time the ball well then the ball will race to the boundary. It's time for the all important toss now!

Toss with Michael Atherton

Toss-3.jpg

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
Hello, ladies and gentleman! It's time for the toss now! I have the 2 captains with me and the match referee. Dhoni will spin the coin....Shakib to call...and Shakib calls heads.

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
And it is heads! Shakib has won the toss. So, Shakib what will Bangladesh do first batting or bowling?

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
We will bat first, Michael. The pitch looks to be a great one for the batting and we will look to put up a good score on the board.

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
What is your side for today's game?

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
We have 1 change Mahmudullah comes in place of Naeem Islam.

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
Ok, Shakib. Best of luck for today's match!

ShakibAlHasan-1.jpg
Thanks!

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
Dhoni, India will be bowling first. What are your thoughts?

MSDHONI-7.jpg
I reckon the pitch will remain good for the batting throughout the match so I have no reason to complain. We will try and restrict Bangladesh to a score of around 250.

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
What is your side for the today's match?

MSDHONI-7.jpg
We are going with a full strengthen squad. Bangladesh played really well in their last match and we were forced to rethink our side and so we have decided to play our full strenghthen side for today's match.

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
OK, MS. Do well in today's match!

MSDHONI-7.jpg
Thanks a lot!

MichaelAtherton-5.jpg
So, the news from the center is that, Bangladesh have won the toss and have elected to bat first.

Let's now have a look at the line ups for the today's match.

Line ups

LineUps.jpg

Bangladesh team has just 1 change from the previous game. Naeem Islam has been left out and in place of him Mahmudullah has been given a chance. Mahmudullah, is a good all rounder. He is a off spin bowler and right handed batsman. Tamim Iqbal didn't fire in the last game so the Bangladeshi team fans will be hoping for a good performance from him in today's match. Junaid Siddique was out for a golden duck in the last match so he has a point to prove as well. Ashraful, made 100 in the last match, he will be looking to continue his good form. On a good batting pitch, the Bangladeshi bowlers will try their best to bowl well.

Indian side, looks very strong. The opening batsman's for them will be Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. Indian team has players like Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvraj and Raina in their middle order. MS Dhoni and Yusuf Pathan will come to bat at lower down the order. Zaheer and Praveen are the 2 pace bowlers in the side. Harbhajan will take care of the spin deparment. Dhoni has the option of 3 part time spinners in Yuvraj, Raina and Yusuf.

We are just minutes away from the match to start. It's time for a short commercial break but before the break their are two question only for the PC members. The member who will give the answer right will get 300 vCash :-

Q. Which team will win the match?
A. Bangladesh
B. India
C. No Result

You've put a picture of Michael Atherton rather than Nasser Hussain on the picture.

I think India will win and Zaheer Khan will pick up MOTM.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. Corrected. :)

Trev, not this time. Bangladesh to win and Tamim Iqbal to get the MOM.

Please Aditya, the plural of batsman is 'batsmen'. (I would've PMd/VMd you if it was an option.)
