India's tour of Australia - January 2016

I feel that if we field well, we might be able to win today. I still wish Ashwin was there in the line-up instead of Jadeja.
I agree, Ashwin is quite better bowler compared to Jadeja.

After a long time, loved to see those hits by MSD, 23 off 9 was not really expected these days from him. Kohli was in a good touch until he gave that as a piece of cake. I feel India'll win it (Rohit didn't score any 100!). Yes we need to bowl and field well to get them under 3 an over and then it will be a competitive game though I'll say 10-15 more was yet again needed. 60-40 from my side.

I am feeling reasonably confident today about the total. In Perth we knew 310 was chaseable and got chased, at Gabba everyone knew 308 was not enough but hoped that the bowlers would defend it anyway, but actually here I genuinely feel India have above par score.

Kohli played brilliantly .He scored less number of boundaries. It was fun watching him bat . I strongly feel that today India has a good chance of winning but , Australia's monster batting line up is not at easy to beat.

Wasim seems to agree too, as long as we field good we should do well!
Interesting thoughts from Wasim Akram. He reckons 295 at the MCG is worth more than it actually is, considering the dimensions of the ground.

Seamers getting smashed around, catches being put down ... anyone else feel we have this match before recently.

India just doesn't have the bowling. It's really frustrating. Captain can't do much with such a bowling attack. The WC attack looked so good with Shami in there. 300 odd every time and we still lose, wow. It feels a completely different pitch when our bowlers bowl.

Thats more like it, the good outswinger gets the batsman out driving. Now just do that to Smith and get it done and over with.

See thats the problem, Yadav gets Finch to a textbook outswinger, and then bowls 5 deliveries after that, not one of which are anywhere near the line and length to the delivery that got Finch. All over the place.

Ishant Sharma is such a disappointment tbh. Doesn't show any energy on the field and even while bowling doesn't look like taking any wickets.

Pathetic bowling assisted with pathetic fielding, result: lose. One must need minimum two of the three things going right to achieve win. We have tremendous batting this tour but bowling and fielding has been too messed up. While, Australia have been top of everything. How are we supposed to beat them?

Sran can't bowl at right line, when you don't have got pace at least keep good line and length. Dhawan looks better atm, no pace but keeping the consistency in line and length.

edit: Good early signs this for R Jadeja. I don't feel there is time to chill after Smith's wicket, Bailey is real monster.

Dhoni, Dhoni, Dhoni. What a reaction time that! Definitely our most brisk fielder is currently keeping wickets.;)

Umesh Yadav is making himself a liability here. Can't bowl both sides of the wicket. Just pick a spot and bowl there.
