India's tour of West Indies June 2011

:eek::eek:

India's pace spearhead Ishant Sharma suffered a freak injury during a practice session but the team management said it was not serious and that he will be fit for the third and final Test against the West Indies, starting in Roseau, Dominica on Wednesday.

Ishant injured himself during a football match which Team India played at Windsor Park on Monday.Everyone was left stunned when Praveen Kumar leaped in the air and accidentally head-butted the left cheekbone of Ishant.

The impact was so hard that Ishant lay flat on his back for a good two minutes, causing panic in the Indian ranks.

Ishant seemed to have a deep blood clot on his left cheekbone, probably a little cut as well, but team sources later allayed the fears that the injury might cost him the final Test.

^Nice Ishant. :p

At least the WI selectors are working well by having the balls to drop Sarwan.

Fully! Hate it when out of form guys get dragged around when they clearly need some runs under their belt. Go and score a club century or 2 if you have to Ramnaresh.

Forget about club cricket, he's actually in Miami according to:

I'm not sure I get the West Indies selection choices. I mean, sure I get why Sarwan and Simmons aren't there, but why would you pick two d?butantes to open and bat first drop? They could still save the series, but when they're throwing players at the opposition like that, I don't feel like they believe it. Worse, I suspect they'll get dropped in quick time like Kraigg Brathwaite.

How does Kirk Edwards get in the team? He has been tried, tested and failed miserably. On what basis do they think he will be more valuble to the team than Sarwan, Nash or Gayle?

I feel sorry for West Indian fans because the selectors don't even have the best players playing. It must be frustrating to see them playing poorly when they could have better players in the team.

My team would be

Gayle
Darren Bravo
Sarwan
Chanderpaul
Samuels
Dwayne Bravo
Ramdin
Taylor
Edwards
Roach
Bishoo

Watching Munaf bowl is as boring as watching paint dry. I actually fell asleep for an over or two there.

Looks like Raina will get to bowl lot of overs this match to help Dhoni avoid the ban for the Lord's test.:D Already 2 overs by Raina in the first session of the first morning.

Again Ishant is the main striker! Beautiful. This series should help Ishant stay in the scheme of things for quite sometime now. 18 wickets already with more to add to his tally. Ishant should be the front runner for the Man of the Series. Wonder what would have happened had Zaheer been part of the side for this tour and partnered Ishant.

204 is too much the stage they were in but my my.. Ishant picks another 5 wicket haul

Another great bowling performance from Ishant :clap
If i read correctly on Cricinfo Ishant is first bowler who took 5 wicket haul

ishant rockz again...but really sad about Vijay
could he score well today?
lets see..

21 wickets for Ishant in this series!!!! Wonderful. With tours of England, Australia, South Africa coming up, Ishant's form should give India happy times.

Vijay again flopped and this should be his last 2nd string side series. He has flopped in ODI, he has flopped in Tests. We play West Indies next after England for again 3 test and 5 ODI's, so may be try to bring in Wasim Jaffer or some one else if seniors are resting.

These pitches are not the easiest for a player playing his debut series. Mukund has shown the courage to stand up to the storms. For me, he has been a good find from this tour.
