India's tour of West Indies June 2011

A good innings from Mukund comes to an end. He has really been good this series as I mentioned earlier, If India can give West Indies a 150 runs lead that is 350 runs by tomorrow then I am pretty sure we can win this.

Very good stuff from Mukund. Even though Rampaul has not bowled today, WI bowlers have been on the button for most of the time when Mukund batted. The boy has shown maturity to fight it out there, and innings of 25, 48 and 62 just re-inforces the fact that he is perfectly made out for test cricket and should be given more opportunities. His problem is, he has to live in the shadows of Sehwag and Gambhir because the middle order is so crowded with the seniors who don't show signs of retiring anytime soon. He has to score as many runs in every opportunity given and keep himself on the toes whenever the seniors retire. Hopefully we can see the day when Mukund and Gambhir are India's first choice test openers and Sehwag can finally bat in his comfortable middle order position (Sehwag should bat at No.4 once the seniors retire).

Kohli again flops. This is not so good. But only 36 runs trail and hope India atleast give 150 runs lead

Good innings from Raina and Dhoni (especially Dhoni since he was so out of form in the first two tests). A 104 run lead is big, and if we can bat quickly in the first hour of play tomorrow, a 175 run lead can be attained which would be a mountain for WI batsmen especially with a red hot Ishant Sharma waiting to add more wickets to his tally in this series. There is still a chance for India to get a result in their favor in this match (WI have a chance too, but their position is too weak now)

Seems a bit harsh to say he flopped. Kohli and Laxman had put on 50-odd together and Kohli was caught down the leg side - that's if he even nicked it. Leg side catches are bad luck and never happens twice in a row - unless you are Ricky Ponting last Ashes...

Windies need Harbhajan ASAP to stay in the game. If he and Dhoni get going, then they'll quickly take India to a very strong position. Shame Rampaul wasn't able to bowl.

That Laxman dismissal was the funniest & weirest i've ever seen since Chris Cairns bowled Chris Read with that slower ball in 1999.:lol

Even if Kohli didn't nick it, he was still out stumped lol

kohli is useless,..he should be kicked out...
he is thinking himself as the most handsome guy:mad

^^^ Are You Serious ?? He is having only 3rd test.. and surely He is the future of Indian middle Order, It will take time to settle down his test career, you can't compare anybody on basis of One day and Test Matches.. He is only 22 right now.. and will learn from his initial experience..

maybe he is a good cricketer, but i dont like him...
anyway he could surely improve in test too

Harsh he looked good in this innings and was unfortunate to get out. It's his 1st series. Let's give him some time.

Do you feel the same about Badrinath who has played only 2 tests in his career and scored 63 runs including a 50? What about Murali Vijay who has scored 559 runs at an average of 31.05 with a century and two 50's?

Kohli has looked as bad as Vijay has looked so far in this series. Anyways, I too hope Kohli will come good one day.

Stop watching his ads on TV:D

I agree with some of you saying that we are being harsh on Kohli. This was his first test series in difficult conditions. Let him give some more time and he will be better becuase he is a good talent. I don't know why did they pick Badrinath for test if they were not gonna pick him. I thought Badrinath could have come in last test in place of Murli Vijay(who has been horrible). Kohli could have open the innings and Badrinath could have taken Kohli's place. Anyways we are all set to wrap up series with 2-0.

Positives from Series:
- Ishant Sharma
- Abhinav Mukund who looked better as the series progressed. Sure looks promising.

oh hey a west indian made a hundred, better declare him an enemy of the board before he becomes too powerful
