India's tour of West Indies June 2011

Yuvraj and captaincy is just not on. He sucks at it. Gambhir and Kohli are the best bets (in that order). And yes, if it has to be a bowling captain, Zaheer Khan is the best and only option right now. Harbhajan can never captain a national side. We saw how he captained Mumbai Indians in one of those IPL seasons.:D

Harbhajan ? Captain ? If they wanna do that, they should give him the chance to lead India in Australia :p How about Sreesanth ?

Jokes apart, Gambhir i the best man to take us forwards with the deputy being Virat[first option] seconded by Raina. If they want a bowling captain, it has to be Zak, but am not sure if he is playing the series. Also, he was quite instrumental in setting the fields during India's successful World Cup campaign.

@ Binnu - Yuvraj Singh has never captained India in the past. He has also, contrary to many reports ,never captained the U-19 side too.
Haha, Bhajji leading India in Australia, that was be an epic scene ;). May be he'll slap Michael Clarke/Ricky Ponting:D:p.

And din't Yuvraj captain the side atleast once, I thought he was given once in the absence of someone. But, he must be given a chance as well:yes. Now the choice is obvious. If selectors have my mind set thingy (giving everyone chance), they'll give it to Yuvaraj. Else, Gautam Gambhir.

We are not here to experiment. This is international cricket. We need to know who will lead in absence of Dhoni and not just guess who will be experimented this time.
What happened after trying out Dhoni as a captain for India in 2007 T20 World Cup? We dunno what is hidden in a player! We should give him chance, once in his life time.

@Absence of Dhoni:- do you want him to retire eh(:p)? Dhoni will be treated with great respect and will be definitely given fair amount of rest.
Dhoni's absence (for major tournaments) in the upcoming four years is just as false as 2+2=5! I'm sure that he'll not play any small tournaments (like tour of Zimbabwe, West Indies), and what I say is replace him with a new captain everytime!

Gambhir did not play the Triseries and hence he Raina was the captain. If Gambhir plays he is the captain.
If Dhoni would have played that, he'd have been the captain then:rolleyes.

Gambhir was RESTED for the tri series, just like how Dhoni was:facepalm!

Harbhajan can never captain a national side. We saw how he captained Mumbai Indians in one of those IPL seasons.:D
Haha, he'll slap Suliemann Benn :D :p.

Rayudu and Badrinath look like the most strongest contenders to make the ODI team. I wish Manoj Tiwary also makes it to the team.

I cannot believe that Rayudu is not picked in the squad. What is Saha doing in the squad, has he done anything so far in the IPL? Firstly, he was picked in CSK side for no reason and now in the Indian squad. Rayudu is very unlucky not to make it to the Indian side.

saha he haven't got to bat in this years ipl and he been picked for india tour of west indies unbelievable and no chance for valthathy rayudu and rahul sharma ? :noway

Valthaty and Rahul sharma are just IPL wonders, they're yet to prove themselves in domestic circuit. So they were no way gonna be selected anyway were as Rayadu has backed his IPL performances with domestic success. Although I'm happy that Badrinath finally made it to the team (again) should be given a long run this time.

Saha selected, he didnt even get any game time in the IPL and he is selected, Could have selected karthick
But i sense there is a CSK connection, Someone needs to tell the selector, Being a CSK player doesnt make him india quality

If people have read the article CAREFULLY :spy its mentioned that they have selected squad on the basis of Domestic Ranji Trophy Tournament form and not IPL.

Although I would have too prefered Raydu over Saha but I would have also liked to see Irfan Pathan in place of Amit Mishra

Yeah, that's something they can't do. They just want to make conspiracy theories that Saha is there because he's a CSK player. Obviously they don't know anything about domestic cricket outside the IPL. They also don't realize how many Delhi players there are as well- Mishra, Sehwag, Kohli, Ishant, Gambhir, Nehra, Dhawan (made his ODI debut this year). If anybody is there, it's on merit.

Everyone seems to forget that for years we had a Mumbai lobby where so many good cricketers from the South were ignored for no good reason.

Seriously, I agree with you Sharvi. There was a time when only Mumbai players got the most chance. Then came in Delhi era and now I dont think Saha's selection is of CSK issue but he has been good. He keeps well & I dont think so its a bad selection. But as I said that Raydu deserved
