IPL IPL Player Auction 2011

That would have surely happened if the 2 new franchise weren't introduced.

it would still have been optional, and look at the number of new players available. I'm sure pune and kochi would have been more than happy to pick and choose from iqbal, swann, anderson, jacobs, finch without any competition. plus whoever the other teams didn't want to retain.

the only issue would be had some of their domestic home based players already signed for other teams as that would be a little unfair.

The Owners would now better do well to take a break and explore through their areas of failures , come back tomorrow and straightaway get the boys they failed to . If you guys know/understand who i am talking about :D

P.S : Rashid claims 2 victims of a single over for the Redbacks :p

that was a weird day, didn't think it would be a full day, wasted quite alot of my bandwith and its now 1:40am here :(

Yes Chennai have $1.425 million left and they need to buy atleast 10 more players with that amount. They have to make a lot of cheap buys. Chennai's overseas players quota is over and they have got only 4 overseas players which is good enough. They might get back Jakati and Gony. They still havent got a decent Indian medium fast bowler. I thought they might go for either Praveen or Nehra, but they didnt.

Lets see what they have in store tomorrow. Its obvious team building. Sachin would have been happy if he had been on CSK's side.

Its now 7:30am here and I havent slept the whole night. I know its too much, but the excitement factor was just too tempting and kept me awake.:D

Kochi tried to make us pay more but in the end, we will be having the best team chemistry.

True that, At first place 2 new franchise were totally unnecessary and actually these 2 teams and some of the existing teams were even against this existing player retention rules, they wanted all to go into auction.

Now that I think about it, Bothas high price may have something to do with Warnie really wanting him..

Wish Chennai gets Abhinav Mukund, Aniruddha Srikkanth and Arun Karthik from the Tamil Nadu team. Our remaining buys have to be really cheap if we want to fill up our team.

KKR is the best team which will be followed by Mumbai Indians and then Deccan.

Seems Delhi the worst so far

Just like WWE adverts comes with 'Don't try this at home' tagline, I hope gr8 ambassadars of game of Cricket, likes of Sachin, Dravid, Kallis, advise one and every 'Don't let the money get to your head'. Indian cricket will be at serious loss if promising youngsters are lost to this drama.

I suspect this will only increase English suspicion of the IPL. Bollinger goes for 700k but Anderson, Swann, Prior all unsold?
Mind you it can only help our test team.

Virender Sehwag, David Warner, Aaron Finch, Naman Ojha, James Hopes, Irfan Pathan and Morne Morkel. Who else do you need? It looks pretty good.

Royal Challengers Bangalore planning to make the earlier Delhi side. Dilshan, de Villiers, Nannes and Vettori! :p
