Is McGain too old to play for australia

He's still nowhere near close to be the oldest test debutant and it 2 year younger than what Australia's oldest debutant was.

He's too old in my opinion. He doesn't seem amazingly good or else I could understand Australia using him.

If you are good enough you are young enough.

No, he is not too old, and as an attacking spinner he is Australia's only option.

It doesn't matter if his old. If his a good spinner and has earned his place he should be rewarded and given a go. I really hope he is successful and fills the gap to a good young spinner can be brought through

I don't know if you could say he is too old, but I think his age will be something that will work against him. Honestly if I were on the selection panel I would just be blooding the younger spinners.

Well we have wasted 2 test to get him in. Needs to at least be given a go before the Ashes as we saw how much of an impact spin can have on the Ashes in England last time round.

As for blooding young spinners, it would help if the state sides would actually play spinners so that the selectors have something to go on. Only Tassie use their spinner most games especially when they got Krejza back. Guess you could say NSW do but Casson seems to be a sinking ship. The other states use their part timers none of whom the selectors would be confident in.

No, he's not too old. You play your best current side, not your best side for 5 years down the line.

We've given Holland a fair go with McGain out although we didn't pick him for the final.

No way. He still has a few years left in him, and as long as he is our best spin option he should be playing. As Sureshot said, sometimes it's good to blood players, but not when there are better options going around. If they are both roughly equal ability, I would pick the younger player every time, but at the moment McGain is by far the best spinner in our ranks, and whilst he probably only has a max of 2-3 years left in him, that's 2-3 years the younger spinners can spend gaining experience, confidence and fully working themselves out as players so they know their game backwards.

Probably the easiest move they have had to make all tour. Good to see him in, the pitch should suit him so can't wait to see how he goes.

Why he is in team he has maked a record 20 overs 143 runs what is this record.
