Some of the comments have been based on a single match held earlier in Australia! The same man during the previous series had helped India win the Adelaide Test match, a historic moment!

Jaques Kallis is probably as good, but simply for the kind and number of crucial, match-winning/match-saving innings' Dravid has played, he is ahead on my list!

Compared to the other guys in our team (Who mostly have strike rates of 80+) "Mr. Dependable" has always been there when they've gone down hitting. We need someone with a lower strike rate to balance things out a bit.

Last I checked, physical appearance had nothing to do with how good a batsman you were.

It's hard to score 5 double centuries being "more then less a blocker". Not to mention that Dravid's strike rate is 41.94 compared to Kallis' 43.9. This proves, beyond any reasonable doubt, that you are judging the players based off 1-2 series.

It helps when you bat on dead tracks in India.

The fact that Kallis hasn't scored many big hundreds but yet still has a higher average then Dravid shows that he is a vastly more consistent run-scorer then what Dravid is.

When Kallis comes in the crease, there is a sense of expection whilst Dravid has always lived in the shadow of Tendulkar.

Kallis is practically overweight. So if that looks 'manly', I doubt many athletes want to look like that.

Dravid a blocker? I don't think you can average in the high 50's in test cricket by just defending.

He doesn't average in the high 50's anymore and I don't see no reason why you can't block yourself to an average of 50.

There are enough intelligent fans on these forums. Besides, there are many more non-Indian fans than Indian fans; that is if I am to go by your ridiculous conclusion that Dravid is only winning because of the fan-count.

you can see it in any thread that has Indian batsman in it, just by the sheer amount of votes they get. If there was as many South Africans the story would be different in the poll, they would be tied. Its just the way it is.

And yes there are fans from England and Australia and other countries and they are the only ones with a view that isn't biased towards Dravid or Kallis and they are the ones that voted for the better batsman. The Indian fans don't see as much of Kallis and even if they did they would still vote for Dravid because thats the way it goes.

yes because thats the obvious one, as good as Sehwag is people value Smith more because he values his wicket more. Sehwag really bumped his value with last nights performance, he showed everyone that he can bat with the tail enders which is something that we didn't see from him before because he rarely got the chance to do it.

The gap between Dravid and Kallis is not as big as the poll shows. In fact at best it should be even, if 10 South African people were the register to these forums and vote the result would be different than it is now.
