Durham begin their reply but in the 4th over the rain arrives.

A surprising number of spectators have hung around during the rain break and play eventually gets underway at 5:18. At stumps Durham are exactly 300 runs behind for the loss of no wickets.

Wow, you have probably the best presentation and organisation out of anyone. Much more enjoyable than paint drying too!

wow what a knock from the lower order and V.Jaarsveld, keep up the great work kev

Errr yeah Lewis, you see that round red thing, you're supposed to hit it.

Day 3 - 2nd Session

After the boredom of the previous session, everyone is hoping for a more eventful session after lunch. They aren't to be disapointed, it takes just 2 balls for some excitement. Maher goes for a big hit but he picks out Patel on the boundary and Hall gets the first wicket for Kent.

Its not long before Hall gets his second wicket when he removes the legstump of Lewis. It's ironic, his seven runs have taken him 147 balls and the master blocker doesnt even offer a shot to the delivery.

Collingwood and Benkenstien put together a partnership before Patel first removes one...

...and then the other.

At tea Durham are 100/4.

Day 3 - 3rd Session

There's just one over of brilliance this session otherwise its pretty much a return to the form of the first session of the day.

Tredwell takes the only wickets of the session. First bowling Ben Harmison.

Then Lowe blocks inside the line of the ball.

At stumps Durham are 133/6 and with just 1 day left its hard to see this match ending in anything but a draw.

Day 4 - 1st Session

Muchall is runout in the third over of the day, no need for the third umpire for this one.

Durham's luck doesnt improve when Tredwell bolws Breese for a duck, Breese lasted just four balls.

dw8wa7.jpg

Thats three more balls than Steve Harmison lasts though!

Lewis survives the hat-trick ball, infact he manages to frustrate the Kent bowlers, however Patel soon removes him.

Durham dont even manage to last 1 hour and are all out for 145.

statsdurhamti3.jpg

Kent start their second innings with a lead of 168 and with just about 2 sessions and 1 hour remaining in the match they are expected to blast a few quick runs.

The 4th day pitch is hampering their progress and they lose an early wicket when Walker edges to Benkenstien in the second over.

w1hs4.jpg

Hall replaces walker and he manages to add a few vital runs before he too edges, this time its thorugh to the keeper. Kent are 32/2.

w2br3.jpg

Hero of the first innings, van Jaarsveld walks out. He too is struggling but luckily for Kent, Key is looking more comfortable at the other end. Key even hits Harmison for 2 sixes in a single over as he looks to put as many runs on the board as possible. With just 1 ball to go before lunch Key declares with the score on 79/2. Kent have a lead of 248 and with 2 sessions remaining they are looking good for at least the draw.

Yup unless something dramatic happens, its gonna end in a draw. Although the way Durham crumbled in the first innings you never know.

Nice videos.

Dont rule out a Saggers Swager tomorrow to win the match :p

Durham v Kent - Liverpool Victoria County Championship - Chester-le-street
Day 4 - 2nd Session

Lewis is showing the same form he showed in the first innings and Durham will be as pleased as Kent when after 52 balls faced Andrew Hall catches him for just 1 run.

w1hj2.jpg

At least Maher is showing a little more spark that he did in the first innings, although its mainly down to the very aggressive field placings Kent are adopting. Its not long however until Patel gets his second wicket.

w2rs4.jpg

Benkenstien and Collingwood are together again and Durham fans have a glimmer of hope as the pair take the total to 84/2 at tea.
