So with Flintoff just come to the crease and Joyce very well set to make a big score, England needed a partnership. Flintoff looked to dominate the bowlers and made sure Hogg did not get on top of him, unlike some of his other teammates. Flintoff hit some very crisp shots and got away with a few shots but overall looked very comfortable at the crease. Joyce just let Flintoff do all the boundary hitting, but made sure he was still ticking the score over when he was on strike. They finished off the 10 overs, since Flintoff came in, without loosing a wicket and steadying the England ship.
England 198/4
Ed Joyce 78* (76)
Andrew Flintoff 40* (45)
