Wasn't at the cinema, but I watched Cloverfield. Wasn't the worst film, although I am being kind in not knocking it too much for the style - essentially someone is given a video camera and you see it mostly through their eyes/the camera lens.

The big downside is there is a wider plot, this creature or even creatures attacking Manhattan, but it is somewhat hard to follow the action. It is a refreshing change from out and out gore and special effects, but I think the camera POV they chose to film through makes it hard work. The ending left me wondering "well what happened.............!?!??!" with more questions than answers. Not sure whether to watch it again or not, it was hard work and the POV thing was irritating to say the least. It was nice of the creature to stay in the Manhattan area to make sure the main players were always dodging disaster. Quite why filmmakers are convinced firing tonnes of ammo and bombs at invaders/creatures will have no effect whatsoever, and we'll buy it, I don't know.
