Finally, a victory! A much needed one. Batting was good on a bowler friendly track while the spinners did a splendid job and not to forget our man of fourth innings, Waqar! Hopefully we will beat the dark horse Zimbabweans too. They have been quite impressive so far to be honest.

Zaheer Abbas put up a fantastic batting display scoring two centuries in the match.His second innings knock of a magnificent and unbeaten 182 ensured Pakistan a size-able lead which their bowlers defended to secure a big win which earned them a bonus point.
Even though Zimbabwe lost,many were impressed with some of their good individual performances such as Murray Goodwin's 139 in the first innings and Bryan Strang's five-wicket haul.

The Aussies played well as captain Donald Bradman broke the shackles to return to his solid touch in style and narrowly missed out on two hundreds in the match as Daniel Vettori dismissed him for 99 in the first innings.
Set a target of 354,the New Zealand batsmen got off to a flyer and Bert Sutcliffe(166) was scoring runs at will as the Australian bowlers suffered.
Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath got the Aussies right back into the game by picking 6 quick wickets but Daniel Vettori held his nerve and got his side home in one of the most thrilling contests in the history of the tournament.

Wow! Zaheer Abbas cracking centuries in both innings! It was always expected that we would win but the Zimbabweans impressed again. Goodwin was the standout man. I really hope they win against Srilanka as they have put up better show than the men from the island nation.

Imran Khan's form is a great worry. He has been off color both with bat and ball but we can't take chances against the Englishmen whom we are lock horns with next. So, I'll give Imran an extended run but this might well be his last game if he doesn't show any improvement.
