Richie Benaud played a good hand making an important 37 to steer Australia to an 8-wicket win which was set up by some brilliant batting and bowling from Don Bradman and Shane Warne respectively.
Sri Lanka crashed out of the tournament with their sixth defeat in a disappointing season where nothing seemed to work in their favor but now they can return home and rest and come up with some fresh plans for Season 3.

You mean you're gonna drop Muralitharan and one of Dilshan or Sangakkara? Murali is Sri Lanka's best ever bowler so that's just Wow and Dilshan and Sangakkara are one of the best batsmen SL have. Dilshan's had a poor season but is capable of much more. The problem is that SL have very few legends so who'll you replace them with?

Having nothing to lose in their last match of the season having been already knocked out, they clicked in all departments courtesy Ray Price's bowling and heroic efforts by Dave Houghton, Andy Flower, Tatenda Taibu and captain Heath Streak as they outplayed an England side against all odds.

Wowza! What an amazing performance. The four players pictured all did amazingly well. Houghton & Andy Flower have had pretty quiet seasons, but finished with a bang! Both scored great hundreds.
Taibu scored a really hard-fought century, which is incredible considering it's his first match for the season. He's definitely secured a spot in the squad next season.
I haven't given Price the credit he deserves; He's been really consistent during the season, and deserves that seven wicket haul, after some impressive bowling.
Streak has led the team well through-out the season, and has been the strike-bowler up front. He is up near the top of the wicket-takers lists, which is impressive given the quality of players in the competition.
