Linking Players / Teams

Hmm. That sounds a bit weird. Maybe someone who has a completely fresh CA ca try it out? Or someone who has never downloaded my saf team.

I'm just going to do that... I've backed up my files and cleared it out CA to start from new.

I must have already had Kallis linked. After I cleared it, Kallis wasn't linked in Kolkata. I'd like to test by also downloading a Kolkata team with players linked and see if they all pick up each other.

This can be something bigant can do with their next update. Since everyone has the same default list, it might be possible. Maybe they can "match" the stats to recreate the links on the user end who downloads the team.

It will need to 'know' that the creators M.Clarke is a replacement of the disks M.Church and ask whether you want to replace all the M.Church on your disk with M.Clarke, that would work.

It means I could do all the work now and set myself up and then upload them to the server. Then when I get the game on PS3, I would just have to download all my uploads.

Problem is, we don't know how team link works. So far it seems like team link just replaces the player in the default team rather than doing it one player at a time (like multiple player links).

Your idea would work if team link worked that way. Or maybe the academy can recommend while replacing players in team links. For example:

do you want to link M. Clarke with the following?

<M. Church> with the arrows letting you select any other players.

And a none option for any player that doesnt have a counterpart option in the default team.

At the bottom...Options are
yes
no
do it for all players except multiple same initials

I would like to Link one of my players (Rob Key) to the Kent team but I cannot seem to find him, searched 'Free Agents' but no players show up at all. Any ideas?

In the linking process you have to find the player you're replacing first....look at the Kent team and find the player with the same initials (RK) and same stats. Select him first during the link process, and your Rob Key should show up on the second screen

I was searching for my 'Rob Key' first instead of the default 'R.Kramer'.

Israr, just dwnload the SA side, link it with one on disk and then delete that user made SA side. Now you'd have just one Kallis who plays for SA, KKR and not multiple versions of him. That does work for me.

Just to be clear, you did just the team link. Right?

No wait! If you directly link the teams and tick the "players" it replaces the on disk team with the user made team and thus the players lose all the skills and att and the stats too. So I'd say do it player by player. Link players and not the teams. And once when all the required players have been linked and the on disk team is as good as you'd like, only then delete the user made team.

I repeat, link players and not the teams!

Well team linking should not lose stats as the saf team on the server already has all the stats and attributes/skills (wrong ones). Hence i am asking people to try team link only and see if the players in the saf team who plays for multiple teams like the ipl teams, automatically shows up in those ipl teams.

I am noticing that when doing player linking, if the player you link is currently a free agent, you get only one player.

if you link a player already in a team, you end up with 2.

e.g. - Saj Mahmood, in my England's Worst XI, has a counterpart in Essex. If I link them I have 2 Mahmoods, 1 in Eng Worst, 1 in Essex, so I have to delete the one in Eng Worst and add in the one from Essex.

Ashton Agar, I download, so he is a Free Agent. I link him to his counterpart in Aus. I have only one Agar, in Aus, WA, and Perth.

This is worth bearing in mind for creators.

Hmm. Yes, duplicate players are annoying. Once i mistakenly edited a free agent only to realize the changes do not effect the other ones.
