Pujara to bowl a super over. you wish your lives were as exciting as this...
being awarded the Freedom of Glasgow trophy
Update: The Freedom of Glasgow Trophy has been stolen after a mugging at deep backward point and has been reported sold behind Glasgow Train station for a shot of meths and a blow job.
Damn !! I missed the superoverWhat a magical hydroxychloroquine fuelled night at Mar-a-Lago!
The Wooden Spoon knock out got underway with a rematch from the group stages between Neptune Gaming and Lucky Lockdown Lunatics. The Lunatics provided a baffling performance as always. Charging towards 210 before scoring 24 from the last four overs, no 200, no century (again) for Tom Bruce. Bruce was left stranded on 97 not out after some questionable play from Foakes. Despite the big score it was looking good for Neptune Gaming until the Associate Lunatics came into the attack. Nitish Kumar, in his first game, struck quickly and then twice more. Aizaz Khan who has endured very little success throughout the tournament finally got a wicket with two more to follow. Neptune Gaming were in disarray and could never fully recover. A first win for Lunatics while Neptune Gaming will contest the Wooden Spoon final.
The second match was a very special finish to the evening. Ducks have consistently made big scores despite consistently losing matches. This time the made 198 thanks to Gill, Vinc, Handscomb and some big finishing from Marsh and Phehlukwayo. Pujara opening the bowling was consistent and not as bad as others but batting down at 8 it looked like his night was done. The Grubbers started well thanks to some big hitting from Mohammad Shahzad but with his run out the wheels started to come off. With Phehlukwayo proving too good for the Grubbers middle order. That left Ravi Bopara, clinging on, Mahmudullah trying their best. But 57 off 24 never looked likely. The two batsman did their best but could only get it down to 19 off 6 when Bopara was dismissed in the 19th over and Pujara arrived at the crease. Despite Pat Cummins going at 6.33 and with 1 over left, Steve Smith decided to give Mitchell Marsh one. Despite a 6 from Pujara and a couple of singles 11 off two balls looked beyond the powers of the number 8. A four off the penultimate ball made it possible and then, the shot heard round the world. Flicking off his pads down to fine leg for six! SCENES. View attachment 232910
Thus we were on for the first super over of the tournament. Kraigg Brathwaite did the most damage with 14 of the 22 from Grubbers. In a stunning change of heart, Grubbers grabbed the ball from Craig Overton and handed it to Cheteshwar 'Braveheart' Pujara. Two fours and single set Ducks on their way but Pujara then conjured up three dot balls to clinch a spectacular and unlikely victory.

Ducks will play for the wooden spoon while The Glasgow Grubbers meet Lucky Lunatics in the the 15th place final.
How does Rashid go for 22 and Pujara only goes for 9
Ahead of our 12th Group place match today, the Short Leg XI headquarters and team “so called selectors” have decided to mix it up and showcase each player in our last two games however some in different and unusual positions. Most notably, Joe Root will be batting at 7 and opening the bowling with D’Arcy Short and Doug Bracewell is primed as the pinch hitter. The reserves of Pandya, Campbell, Bavuma, Richardson and Finn will all play in our final game of the tournament. We have really enjoyed the tournament all the storylines exciting games, hat tricks, no balls, thrilling chases and hope we can produce a special moment at some stage. Considering we have conceded a lot of runs and both centurions in the tournament have come against our lacklustre attack - I am hoping that Root can spin our way into 12th!
