Mar 30 - Pakistan v India (Semi-Final 2)

Smurf is true actually. Misbah actually showed a big sign of incompetence, when he could've just extracted singles instead of defensive shots and could've been a big boost to Pakistan in the powerplays. That would have also relieved some pressure of others to score.

Hardly. Incompetent? That's incredibly harsh. Compare his strike rate to Sachin's. The conditions weren't conducive to hitting out. If you're going to criticize Misbah, also criticize the Pak openers who went from a winning position to panic mode.

Wow. Really got some problems with this right here. Pakistan did not make it to the semi-finals because of "luck", they made it because of their bowling. Pakistan in my opinion has the strongest bowling attack without Amir and Asif. I think they proved it in the world cup, even though Umar Gul did not have his day, he is still a very dangerous bowler and is widely considered one of the most dangerous fast bowlers in the world when he is in good rhythm. Apple was by far a stand-out with the ball and he was by far the best spinner and in opinion he was the best bowler in the world cup. Put in a strong Ajmal, a very tight and consistent Hafeez and very good young talent in Wahab Riaz and Pakistan has an amazing bowling attack.

And there is no way you can tell me there fielding was ever THIS bad. It has been bad, yes I will agree to that but this was absolutely horrible. Never once did I see a good hustling play were the fielder picked up the ball and restricted a run or two. If you watch Pakistan play against Australia they weren't great but they were FAR better than in this match. Dropping Sarfaraz Khan 4 times come on, he was like a cat today Sarfaraz Khan had like 6 lives but just couldn't get out. I do agree their batting plays some horrible shots for no reason when everything is going perfectly. But still Pakistan did not win because of luck at all.

The bowling attack only gets them so far though, the fielding has always been inconsistent and the batting does, I feel, rely too much on luck.
All around, they were better against WI and Aus, but if they continued on in that form and won the cup, I would say they rode their luck well and it would only be a matter of time before the usual poor fielding and batting collapses re-emerged.

I just have a problem with people saying Pakistan threw the game away, when all they did is play like they typically do and it's rarely good enough against a consistent team like India.

Yeah but you can't expect a team to threw away every game. Throwing a game away shows nerves and stupidity not luck when you do win.

I've never felt sorry for him. We all know the team gave this tournament their heart. Until next time Pakistan.

lmao at word filters, I didn't know Planetcricket was into fun like this :D

^ Are you serious? What will you do If you get horrible decisions again again and you have used 2 successful reviews already but you won't have any left? Why should a successful review cost us 1 review when we didn't do anything wrong :facepalm

If I don't forget when UDRS was implemented in Ashes, successful ones were counted.
Huh? Say again.

Damn right, the boys from across the border gave the game everything they had.

@ Meet : No dude , they weren't in the Ashes and wont forever . What your saying is similar to staking 10000 on a vbookie event with ODDS 0.25 and getting only 2500 in return without the originally staked 10000 .
