Hayden and Vidyut opened the batting for Super Kings . Hayden got the Super Kings of to a flyer by scoring 10 runs in the first over of Brett Lee . But Irafn Pathan striked the wicket of Vidyut for a duck . he was caught by Sohal at covers and Super Kings were 10/1 . Suresh Raina came in . Hayden and Raina went after Lee and Pathan . They both put a 33 run partnership including 4 fours . But Hayden was caught by Pathan at third man of Sreesanth's bowling . Hayden departed for 24 . He was replaced by Michael Hussey . Hussey and Raina steady the innings when the wickets were falling quickly . Raina was the next man out . He caught by Sohal at long on of the bowling of Piyush Chawla . Raina departed for 39 . Hussey was out in the next over of Yuvraj Singh . Hussey was bowled by Yuvraj Singh . And suddenly Chennai were in trouble at 87/4 . Badrinath didn't stay long as he was clean bowled by Chawla for just 3 runs . Oram and Dhoni played a very important partnership of 82 runs between them . Oram made a quick fire 44 of just 14 balls including 7 fours and 2 sixes . While Dhoni was not out on 41 . But Oram fell to Sreesanth for 44 . Oram was caught at mid on by Goel . It was a huge task for the openers of Kings XI Punjab . Shaun Marsh opened alongside Karan Goel . Jacob Oram started the proceeding with a maiden of the first over . Karan Goel was unable to tme the ball and it was very difficult for him to rotate the strike . He was the first man to be dismissed for a duck of 12 balls . He was caught by Hayden at slips of Oram's bowling . Kumar Sangarkkara and Marsh put on an invaluable partenrship of 70 runs between them . Shaun Marsh doing the most of the scoring and also bought up his 50 in just 26 balls . This duo were not that attacking by took singles and rotated the strike very often . But Dhoni's most trustful bowler Joginder Sharma broke the partnership by taking the all important wicket of Sangarkkara for 10 . Jayawardena didn't last long as he was bowled by Joginder in his next over for 12 runs . Shaun Marsh was bowled by Muralitharan for a well played 57 . Sunny Sohal went for a duck . Joginder Sharma celebrated his 3rd wicket . Yuvraj Singh was run out for just 7 runs . And suddenly Kings XI Punjab found them from 73/1 to 111/7 . Irfan Pathan hit some valuable 15 runs but Joginder Sharma bowled him of and that was the end of all hopes of Kings XI Punjab team . Though Lee , Sreesanth and Chwala hit some boundaries but they were useless . Chawla fell to Muraltharan as he was given leg before for 8 . Sreesanth smashed Muralitharan for 10 runs but then he was caught by Vidyut at long of and he departed for 10 . Brett Lee smashed Goni for 4 consecutive four but then Goni bowled him with a yorker .
