Mumbai Indians vs Bangalore Royal Challengers

Bharat Chipli and Wasim Jaffer opened the batting for Royal Challengers . Shaun Pollock was given the new ball by skipper Sachin Tendulkar . Chipli scored 2 runs of the first ball then Pollock beat the bat the next four balls and the 6th ball Pollock found the edge and a great catch by Tendulkar in the slips and Chipli had to depart for just 2 runs . Nehra was given the ball he consided 10 runs of 2 balls including 1 six and 1 four scored by Wasim Jaffer but again the last ball of the over Nehra struck as Jaffer edged one back to keeper Takawale . Royal Challengers were 12/2 .

Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid had to steady the ship and they did so by putting a great 97 runs of 85 balls partnership between them . Jacques Kallis scored 52 in 48 balls and Rahul Dravid scored 35 in 37 balls . Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid rotated the strike very well when the scorecard needed to be moving . Tendulkar made many bowling changes in the 14 overs but the wicket didn't come their way . Kallis had his leg on the accelerator and when need the both used their abilities to hit the ball for boundaries . Kallis scored 4 sixes and 5 boundaries in his 52 while Dravid scored only 3 fours in his 35 .

Mumbai Indians had to be positive and patience was the key . The MI bowlers were keeping it tight by giving less than 7 runs per over . It was time for the Royal Challengers to take their chance . And finally it was the young 19 ye old Dhaval Kulkarni who got the breakthrough . Kallis tried to hit it over mid on but it ended in the hands of Shaun Pollock at mid on . Kallis went for a well played 52 runs . Dravid soon was next man to depart for 35 . he went for a huge one but he was caught at the boundary by Bravo and Jayasuriya got rid of Dravid .

Virat Kohli and Ross Taylor had to score maximum runs in the last 4 overs . As Royal Challengers were 109/4 at the end of 16 overs . And after 20 overs Banaglore Royal Challengers ended at 167/6 . It took a cameo from young Indian under 19 captain Virat Kohli . He scored 48 runs in 17 balls before he was bowled of the last ball by Nehra . Kohli's 48 included 2 huge sixes and 6 fours . Nehra was smashed for 24 runs of the last over which really helped Bangalore Royal Challengers post a respective total . Ross Taylor was run out for just 4 runs and Mark Bouncer didn't face a balls .

Mumbai Indians need 168 runs to win from 20 overs at 8.4 runs per over .
