New Cricket Management Games...

Its so positive to see so much interest in Cricket Management games, like you guys I still play ICC2002. Its not perfect, but its pretty damn good.

I'd like to see things like a player editor, schedule creator (to plan your own tours) and the inclusion of other domestic competitions other than just County Cricket.

I prefer these types of games to games such as Cricket 2004.

You can get an editor from the forums of www.cricketweb.net. Its made by member Neil Pickup.

I tell ya, with the amount me and my mates play ICC it's almost brain-damaging. I'm sure most of you have been hooked before; we're hooked now.
If anything, the next ICC-type game should have:
* Player Editor
* Fixture Creator
* Second team matches optional
* Better AI

Yep ICC is so addictive even though i only win 15% of games with Durham on hard.

An interesting thread, with some good points being made by several different people.

A lot of the ideas you've suggested in this thread will appear in Cricket Coach (www.rockinghamgames.com), which is slated for release later this year. This game (despite being developed by the same company that brought you Michael Vaughan's Cricket Manager in 2001) has very little to do with that title. It has been developed from the ground up.

The advantages are numerous - we have included loads of new attributes and stats for players, teams and grounds. Also, the brand new 2D engine is the first of its kind to appear in a cricket game (it is not at all scripted unlike the ICC highlights packages).

In ICC all the highlights are to a certain extent scripted (ie if you get a stumping in the matchcode but have your keeper put onto the boundary, you will see a highlight of your wicket keeper whipping the bails off whilst stood up to the stumps.) In otherwords, they don't match upto what the match engine created.

This isn't the case in CC. The ball's angles etc are all taken from the match engine.
