New Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010.

Those photo's are really embarrassing.. If it would be a Cricket World Cup this would not have been the case for sure :doh

definitely ruined any chance of an Olympic bid (if there was even a whiff of one)

and yea you are right, if this was a cricket event, it would never have been so shambolic. India has hosted no shortage of major cricket tournaments.

Apparently child labor is and has been used to make some of these projects

Just look at the area where they house the construction workers, looks like an African refugee camp

Of course, we cant think of anything other than cricket. While our preparations for cricket events have been excellent, our preparation for this event has been completely shambolic. Suresh Kalmadi needs to be punished for damaging the country's name like this.

I`d say let us wait till the actual games begin. We have this sick attitude of fixing things when under immense pressure. We cannot afford this event to not go ahead because of the sheer amount of money we`ve spent, some estimates say $10bn were spent on it. It is just carelessness and lack of national pride among the organizing committee which has buffoons like Kalmadi in it.

And this coming from a country which launched a successful moon mission last year at half the cost of what NASA would`ve spent on the same mission. They could`ve built a city from scratch in $10bn. Thats a heck of a lot of money!! In fact, some countries in Africa may not have seen that much money in years! Pathetic.

What the fling! Media has reported that India bribed 72 commonwealth countries $100000 each to win the CWG bid.

Shameful!:facepalm

Apparently the athletes village isn't a bad as what it's been reported. It's still not the best, but livable.

A bridge collapsed, then a roof fell in. Now they are RUSHING to get facilities finished, fearsome tweak that.

Haha India isn't ready for this **** yet, hopefully CWG tells the world that. Keep the Olympics away, India should only get a world cup every 15 years or so and that's it until the country manages to curb its overpopulation, extreme poverty and corruption issues from within.

Apparently now the kiwi media are saying that NZ tourists in Delhi will be targets for terrorists. :laugh

Anyway i'm not sure how this will work out now.

There was a shooting in the city earlier this week and there is about to be a court ruling on some Hindu Muslim affair. Its just too much going on, I would not feel safe walking around as a tourist.

You know what, India has got more than what a normal country (hosting CWG) has!

What is that extra stuff, which India has?

Ans: Corrupted officials!

When is the CWG starting? The Hindu Muslim affair you're referring to (the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid verdict) is supposed to be on the 28th. Its a very emotional issue and movies have been postponed because the verdict is going to be given in a few days. Not the right time now for tourists (especially from the West) to be visiting India.
