New Delhi Commonwealth Games 2010.

Yes, Callum and Chewie are right. Each country has it's own qualifying times I'm pretty sure. Makes me want to just move to a small Pacific Island country so I can get in :p.

Also can someone tell me what was so special about the opening ceremony?
It just looked the same as all the others I've watched, but with Indian culture instead of another host countries culture...

i agree with you, wasn't the best ceremony i was expecting more tbh. and i missed the part where all the players come out, because i missed the start of the ceremony. They should've done that at the end like other international sporting events.

First day has been pretty average, no events to watch now that the swimming is finished till the night session.

I was watching a bit of the squash, but outside that nothings really taken my interest.
Lol at us putting on the century in Netball, and I think our women's hockey team had a decent win.
I've moved over to the Ryder Cup now.

Tomorrow I probably won't much either, as the BC's will be in action in BNG, so the timezone's will completely clash.

I'm mainly waiting for track and field, cycling (which I thinks usually on very late here), and sevens.

Triathlon is usually good to watch and the swimming likewise but seems a bit low key this year with less stars. Obviously without the Americans doesn't help either.

There was nothing 'SPECIAL', but the opening ceremony was upto Olympic standards, after the recent controversy, which made everyone think that it would be unprofessional.

It was done in end. :p

Don't know about others, but the opening ceremony quite fabulous IMO. Especially that bit where the schoolboys painted a design of "Swagatam" or something on a huge piece of cloth with mehendi. The concept of a giant helium balloon was grand as well.

Probably because they have 1% idea what is going on in those acts. :p

silver+bronze in mens and women weightlifting. Account opens for India.

And never knew about this game which currently has Scotland and Botswana going at each other. The average weight of each player in these two teams would be 130 kg :laugh

Yes true. That is why I said, Opening was awesome, games going pretty smoothly but still there will be people who will be criticizing the CWG.

Few people say we dont care about CWG then why be a part of giving negative comments? When it does not matter you why try and prove your self?:sarcasm

Anyways we too have opened our account. Saina Nehwal dependency is a major factor in Badminton

Sad to see that Sonia(Wieghtlifter) not winning gold

Lol, we missed out on our first medal by 0.03 of a second. :laugh
That's gotta hurt. :facepalm

Apparently we should win a few on the cycling track today.

Netball crowd was pretty bad but understandable given not many people watch it. Can't remember how it was like in Melbourne. If it stays like this through the whole tournament then there is problems as the finals should be packed.

aussie1st added 1 Minutes and 59 Seconds later...

The Aussies are dominating in the pool. 2 gold's already.

Feels empty without the Americans. Although the relay final was a cracker.
