New Zealand Team Discussion

yeah but we're talking about the team that will lose to New Zealand in the World Cup final, I don't see what India has to do with anything...

We are talking about the team that will play against NZ in final.

Nopes . India .

Pretty confident that match hasn't been played yet...

He's retired before and come back, this isn't news

Oh no, he's definitely done. He has a young family which I know is a huge deal for him, but he just absolutely loves cricket. I wouldn't be surprised if he's being groomed to take over a coaching role within the NZ set-up. Watch that space, but his playing days are done after Sunday.

He's the head coach for one of the IPL franchises, right?

That actually brings up a question, are there any players still around in international cricket that played in the 20th century? I'm sure Vettori is the last one...

Good question, no idea... that's prolly one for @ChinamanSpin he's good with the stats...

...and yeah, Vettori coaches one of the teams, I think. You've also got Fleming floating around the periphery in the IPL as well, but I can't see Hesson retiring anytime soon but I see a Fleming/Vettori coaching combination in the near future, every chance that's around the time Kane Williamson takes over from McCullum as I think the Williamson/Fleming combo is a natural fit. Don't forget Vettori has been a player/coach for NZ in the past as well, he's hugely respected amongst the team, ex players and the NZ Cricket Board.
